Turki Al-Faisal: US attack on Iran was the result of Netanyahu’s deception.
Al-Faisal wrote in an article in the Emirati newspaper The National: “If justice and fairness prevailed in the world, we would have seen American B2 bombers raining down on Dimona and other Israeli sites, because Israel has nuclear bombs that violate the Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
He added, “In addition, Israel has not joined this treaty and is outside the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and no one has inspected Israel’s nuclear facilities.”
Turki Al-Faisal continued, “Those who justify Israel’s unilateral attack on Iran by citing statements by Iranian leaders who call for the destruction of Israel are ignoring the statements of Benjamin Netanyahu, who has called for the destruction of the Iranian government since he became prime minister in 1996.”
The former head of Saudi intelligence said, “The hypocritical support of the West for Israel’s attack on Iran was predictable because their support for the Israeli attack on Palestine continues, although some countries have recently become less supportive.
He added: “The Western sanctions on Russia for its attack on Ukraine are in stark contrast to what Israel is allowed to do. The international rules-based order that the West has long promoted and proclaimed is collapsing. We in the Arab world are not immune to this. Our principled stance in these conflicts is a shining example of what countries, leaders and nations should do.”
Turki Al-Faisal said: “What is annoying about Western leaders is that they continue to utter empty slogans about their beliefs. Fortunately, especially in the case of the Palestinian people’s struggle for independence from Israeli occupation, a large number of ordinary men and women in the West have rejected the false positions of their leaders.”
The former head of Saudi intelligence added: “People of all religions, colors and ages continue to show their support for Palestinian independence; Therefore, the growing changes in the positions of their leaders are visible. This is a welcome development.
He said: When US President Donald Trump gave the green light to the US military on Saturday evening to bomb three nuclear sites in Iran, it became clear that he believed Netanyahu’s deceptions and exaggerated successes in the illegal attack on Iran.
Turki Al-Faisal continued: When the US, under the leadership of the then-president, attacked Iraq and Afghanistan more than two decades ago, Trump opposed those attacks. Remember that the US attacks on those two countries had unintended consequences, and an attack on Iran will certainly have unintended consequences.
