According to Al Jazeera, the Czech Foreign Minister announced that the activities of the country’s embassy in Syria have resumed after a month-long suspension following the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

He added that the head of the US interests section at the embassy has also returned to work.

The Czech Foreign Minister said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had contacted him and stressed the continuation of the activities.

The Czech Embassy in Damascus has been the guardian of the interests of the US and other Western countries since 2012, after the closure of their embassies in Syria.

The country’s Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that it has appointed the former Czech ambassador to Moscow as the charge d’affaires of the country’s embassy in Damascus.

It should be noted that the US embassy in Syria remains closed.
