The psycho army in the Gaza war: Israeli soldiers considering suicide.
Although the root of the suicide phenomenon in the Israeli army dates back to the regime’s wars with Lebanon, especially the July 2006 war, and after that a wave of suicides among the Israeli soldiers began following their suffering from various mental disorders, including “post-traumatic stress disorder”, this phenomenon became significantly apparent after the Al-Aqsa Storm operation that the Palestinian resistance carried out against the Israeli regime on October 7, 2023.
The suicide phenomenon in the Israeli army since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Storm
Since the beginning of this war, and while the Israeli army has imposed a policy of strict military censorship on the regime’s media and does not allow the publication of accurate statistics on casualties, both at the field level and suicides, Hebrew sources have repeatedly warned about the worrying increase in suicides in the Israeli army.
However, the suicide of Israeli soldiers in the recent phase of the Gaza war, while the Israeli cabinet and army continue to promote the slogan of “absolute victory” in this war, has become an everyday occurrence, and the Israeli media almost every day talks about the phenomenon of suicide in the army.
The most recent case of suicide in the Israeli army, which has been reported, is the suicide of Ariel Taman, a reserve soldier of the Israeli army, who ended his life in his home in southern occupied Palestine.
This Israeli soldier worked in the unit for identifying the bodies of dead soldiers in the Israeli army, which is one of the most difficult missions in terms of psychology. The Israeli TV channel 12 reported that four more Israeli soldiers have committed suicide in mid-July alone, and the number of suicides among Israeli forces has increased significantly since the beginning of the war compared to previous years.
Why do Israeli soldiers think about suicide?
The soldiers of the Zionist regime’s army have committed crimes during various periods of the endless wars that this regime has waged with Arab countries, especially the Palestinian people, that are unimaginable and incomprehensible to any human being in terms of cruelty, savagery, and savagery.
Naturally, even seeing images of a small part of these crimes causes severe psychological damage to individuals; but the Zionist soldiers are not only not affected after committing these crimes and do not feel remorse, but they are also proud of this brutality and publish its images in the media and social networks.
Since the beginning of the Gaza war, numerous reports have been published by the regime’s media about the mental and psychological disorders and injuries of the Zionist soldiers; But it is quite clear that the psychological tensions of the Zionist occupying forces are not due to remorse for the crimes they commit against innocent civilians, especially women and children, but rather due to the heavy and unprecedented blows they suffer from the resistance.
Psychological trauma among the reserve forces of the Zionist army, especially the younger ones, is more evident than among other officers and soldiers of the occupying regime. In this regard, “Ravital Hofil”, a Zionist writer and expert in mental disorders, published an article to examine the psychological trauma of the Zionist soldiers who work regularly or as reserve forces for the occupying army.
Part of this article states: The regular army forces thought that after three years of the Corona epidemic, the army was fully prepared; but suddenly the war began, and we saw scenes that were impossible to control. Aside from the ongoing loss of life for Israeli forces, the psychological cost of this war is enormous, and even those forces who managed to survive feel that their lives are over.
