Trump seeks $230 million in damages from US Justice Department.
The New York Times reported that Donald Trump’s lawyers have demanded about $230 million in compensation for federal investigations conducted on him before Trump won the 2024 presidential election.
The US president said last night (October 19) about the report: “This decision must be approved by me and the decision to pay myself is very strange. But I have suffered a lot.”
He added about the US Department of Justice: “They probably owe me a lot of money. If I receive money from my country, I will do a good deed with it and pay it to charity or the White House.”
After the end of his first term as president, Trump faced a series of federal investigations into negligence in the storage of classified information and attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
These cases were dropped last year after Trump’s second victory.
