US Senate rejects bill to halt arms sales to Israel.
The US Senate rejected a bill to block more than $675 million in arms sales to Israel in two votes on Wednesday.
According to Euronews, the vote shows that the number of Democratic senators who oppose arms sales to Israel has increased.
Bernie Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont who has repeatedly tried to block offensive weapons sales to Israel in the past year, was one of the pioneers in introducing these resolutions in the US Senate.
One of the two resolutions was rejected by 70 votes against, with 27 votes in favor from Democrats, and the other by 72 votes against, with 24 votes in favor. Sanders’ previous effort last November received 18 votes from Democrats.
