In this regard, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote in a message on his X social media account (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that the United States has no higher priority than protecting its country and people: The Trump administration’s State Department has suspended visa issuance to all Afghan passport holders.
Also, Joseph B. Idlow, Director General of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), in a message on his social media account X (formerly Twitter), stated that the safety of the American people is always a priority, and announced: The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has suspended all asylum-related decisions to ensure that every foreign national is subject to full security checks.
According to IRNA, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had previously announced that it had suspended processing of all immigration applications related to Afghan citizens until further notice following the shooting incident of two National Guard soldiers in Washington.
The organization wrote in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter): “The protection and security of our homeland and the American people remains our sole focus and mission.”
This action came after US President Donald Trump asked his administration on Thursday morning to re-examine the status of all Afghan immigrants who entered the United States during the presidency of Joe Biden (former President).
