Wall Street Journal: El-Sisi would prefer not to meet with Trump.
According to Al Jazeera, the American newspaper Wall Street Journal reported, citing Egyptian officials, that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of the country is concerned about the developments after he visited the United States and met with President Donald Trump of the country.
According to the report, al-Sisi is concerned that if he travels to the United States and meets with Trump publicly, he will come under constant pressure from the latter to convince Cairo to implement the plan to forcibly relocate the residents of the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
This is while Cairo has repeatedly stated its firm opposition to Trump’s brazen plan.
Yesterday, Egyptian diplomatic sources announced that the tensions in relations between Egypt and the United States are the most severe in the past three decades.
These sources added: It is likely that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s visit to the United States will be postponed indefinitely.
