Who suggested bombing the ceremony of Martyr Nasrallah?
Tamir Morag, a political correspondent for Israel’s Channel 14, said in a talk show on the channel that Morgan Ortagus, the US envoy to Lebanon, suggested to Israeli officials that they target the funeral of the martyred Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, which was attended by hundreds of thousands of Lebanese people at the Beirut stadium.
Apparently, the argument of this evil being was that a number of senior officials of the Lebanese resistance were among the attendees. According to Morag, Ortagus made this proposal during her visit to the occupied territories, shortly before the funeral.
Morag added: “The Israeli side decided to refrain from taking such a step and only content itself with flying fighter jets over the participants in the funeral.”
Morag had previously said in a television interview months earlier that a US administration official had made a similar proposal, but did not mention Ortagus by name.
