9 actors with 13 thousand nuclear warheads; A great danger lurks in the world

Pak Sahafat – Despite more than 13,000 nuclear warheads being placed at the disposal of actors such as Russia, America, England, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea, now the statistics indicate the production of 136 new warheads; A process that seems dangerous due to the complexity of international tensions and conflicts, especially the Ukraine crisis.

From the Second World War, when America used the atomic bomb to defeat Japan, until today, there is always a fear of repeating such behavior, and despite international concerns, the number of atomic warheads is increasing day by day.

Recently, the “Statista” website, citing the Association of American Scientists, reported that the number of nuclear warheads in the world increased by 136 from January 2022 to January 2023. This increase was mainly made by China, Russia, North Korea, Pakistan and India.

The report added that the majority of this increase is related to China, and Beijing increased its stockpile from 350 nuclear warheads to 410 nuclear warheads. India, Pakistan and North Korea also increased their reserves, and Russia has increased its reserves to a lesser extent. This was while other nuclear powers maintained the size of their arsenal.

Among the 9 actors with nuclear weapons, Russia, America, England, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea, only 2 actors possess more than 90% of nuclear warheads, which are Russia and the United States, respectively. The other seven actors possess only 10% of the world’s nuclear weapons.

The “World Population Review” analytical database has estimated the number of Russian nuclear weapons at 6,255; Statistics that have been confirmed by the “Stockholm International Peace Research Institute” (SIPRI).

It should be noted that Russia and the United States have signed a new strategic arms reduction treaty (New Start); the treaty, which is to control the arms of the countries, was implemented on February 5, 2011. According to this treaty, no country can deploy more than 1,550 warheads and strategic nuclear bombs.

After Russia, America is in second place with about 5,550 nuclear weapons. To date, the United States is the only country that has used nuclear weapons in war. On August 6, 1945, a uranium bomb called “Little Boy” was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, which killed an estimated 140,000 people. The country dropped the second bomb, “Fat Man” three days later in Nagasaki, which killed another 74,000 people.

The European countries of France and England are in fourth and fifth place with 290 and 225 nuclear weapons, respectively. Pakistan and India as two competing countries with 165 and 156 nuclear weapons are in the sixth and seventh ranks. Finally, the Zionist regime with 90 and North Korea with 50 weapons stand in the eighth and ninth ranks, respectively.

The bitter irony is that despite the Zionist regime’s possession of the atomic bomb, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Western countries have focused on Iran and tried to induce Tehran to acquire non-peaceful nuclear weapons. At the same time, the leaders of the Zionist regime, while refusing to issue a license for IAEA inspectors to inspect their nuclear facilities, also refuse to be a member of the NPT.

In general, the history of the use of the atomic bomb by the United States, as well as severe international tensions such as the current crisis in Ukraine, increases the risk of its repeated use. A few months ago, there were rumors about the use of “tactical nuclear warheads” during the war in Ukraine; Caps that are placed against “strategic caps”.

In addition to the issue of tactical nuclear warheads, now the sending of ammunition containing depleted uranium to Ukraine has become an additional reason for concern about the use of atomic bombs; An event that, if it happens, will ring the bell of World War III.
