“Al-Aqsa Storm” shattered the equation of the Zionist regime’s “absolute superiority”

Al-Aqsa Storm

PNN – The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran said on the second anniversary of Operation “Al-Aqsa Storm”: was a turning point that once again put the Palestinian issue at the center of global attention.

The Zionist regime had painted for itself an image of military superiority, intelligence superiority, and unchallenged control for decades. Operation Al-Aqsa Storm shattered this image in a single morning. The storm irreversibly shattered the enemy’s power. The Israeli regime was humiliated before the world.

This operation revealed what was hidden: the destruction of hospitals, schools, and mosques; the massacre of children and women; and the hypocrisy of those who claim to defend human rights. All these crimes were exposed to the world. The resistance’s ability to infiltrate Israeli-controlled areas, seize military bases, and capture Israeli forces dealt a psychological and strategic blow to the occupiers that was unprecedented since 1948.

On the second anniversary of Operation Storm al-Aqsa, we spoke with Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Iran, the details of which are given below.

“Al-Aqsa Storm”: From the humiliation of the Zionists to the defeat of the myth of the invincible army

Two years after Operation Storm of Al-Aqsa, how is this event evaluated in the history of the Palestinian resistance?

Operation Storm al-Aqsa was a turning point because it broke the equation of Israel’s “absolute superiority” and put the Palestinian issue at the forefront of world public opinion. Hence, the rule of the game is “mutual deterrence”; the enemy has the ability to inflict damage but is unable to finish, and the internal-external cost of the invasion has become a leap for him.

Considering the popular and spontaneous global actions in support of the Palestinian people, such as the departure of the ships “Madeleine”, “Hanzala”, and “Samoud” towards Gaza, what is the message of Operation Storm of Al-Aqsa for the Islamic Ummah and freedom-loving nations?

Such spontaneous and global popular actions have two messages: one is addressed to the Palestinians who defend Jerusalem and the Palestinian land. The other is addressed to the world, which is that they are fed up with the oppression of the occupying regime against the Palestinian people and are working to break the siege of the Gaza Strip.

What is the current status of the Resistance Axis and what are its post-war priorities?

The axis of resistance now stands at a higher level of coordination and more cohesive deterrence. Consolidating the ceasefire and protecting civilians, unifying the Palestinian political path, developing smart deterrence, and accelerating the legal-diplomatic pursuit of Israeli crimes are priorities for the axis of resistance.

What impact did the Al-Aqsa Storm have on Zionist society and the future of Netanyahu’s cabinet?

The Al-Aqsa storm exposed structural cracks, such as a crisis of distrust in Israel’s security institutions, as well as the regime’s economic erosion. Even if Netanyahu’s current cabinet remains in place temporarily, its strategic horizon is narrow and costly.

How has the culture of resistance spread among the new generation of Palestinians?

“Practical resistance” has become the norm; studying under fire, volunteering, entrepreneurship for survival, and producing content in multiple languages is the culture of resistance among the new generation of Palestinians. Resistance has gone from a slogan to a “way of life.”

Did the Al-Aqsa Storm pave the way for the formation of a global front against Tel Aviv’s occupation policies?

Yes; not only the military front, but also a multi-level network of moral and legal pressure against Israel was created; the expansion of recognition of the Palestinian state, the imposition of arms restrictions on Israel, the increase in international cases, and the intensification of the wave of sanctions against the Zionists are examples of the multi-level network of pressure on the Zionist regime.

What do global reactions, especially the positions of Western governments, mean for the future of global order?

After October 7, the gap between governments and public opinion has deepened. The practical message is that “international humanitarian law” is becoming a costly lever and the monopoly of the Western narrative is waning; we are moving towards “moral-legal pluralism” that makes the calculation of occupation even more burdensome.
