China

According to Xinhua news agency, Zhang Jun, China’s envoy to the United Nations, expressed his country’s “extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction” with the United States. “The US veto sends the wrong message and pushes the situation in Gaza to a more dangerous situation,” Zhang said, stating that opposing a ceasefire in Gaza is “no different than giving a green light to continue the killing.”

He added: “Only by extinguishing the flames of war in Gaza, the world can prevent the fire of hell from spreading throughout the region.”

Russia

“Vasily Nebenzia”, ​​the representative of Russia in the United Nations, described the American veto as “another black page in the history of the Security Council” and said that the US is trying to buy time for Israel so that the regime can complete its “inhumane plans” for Gaza, that is, expelling the Palestinians from the territory and “completely cleansing” the besieged area.

France

Nicolas de Riviere, the representative of France at the United Nations, expressed his regret that “despite the catastrophic situation in Gaza” the ceasefire resolution of the United Nations Security Council was not approved. De Riviere added that France, which voted in favor of the resolution, will continue to work for the release of all prisoners and an immediate ceasefire.

Hamas

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said in a statement that US President Joe Biden’s decision to block the Algerian draft resolution is in favor of the Israeli occupation regime and its aim is to “kill and displace” Palestinians.

Hamas announced in a statement: “President Joe Biden and his administration are directly responsible for defeating the ceasefire resolution in Gaza. America’s positions are seen as a green light for the occupiers to carry out more killings and kill our innocent people through bombing and starvation.”

Palestinian Authority

The office of Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, announced that the US veto contradicts the opinion of the international community and gives Israel “more green light to continue its aggression against the people of Gaza and start a bloody attack on Rafah.”
