America’s metatextual failure in the world/failed doctrines in the White House

PNN – A special focus should be placed on the doctrine of American governments in the face of global developments. Doctrines that one after another, instead of becoming Washington’s strength, have become the Achilles’ heel of political currents and the totality of American sovereignty in the international system.

These days, one cannot ignore the metatextual dimensions of America’s failure in the international system. Even the political leaders of this country have admitted that they have lost their power in the world and regulating the behavior of Washington’s allies in some cases cannot be handled by the power lobbies in the White House and Congress. In the meantime, a special focus should be placed on the doctrine of American governments in the face of global developments. Doctrines that one after another, instead of becoming Washington’s strength, have become the Achilles’ heel of political currents and the totality of American sovereignty in the international system.

A reflection on a survey

A new survey by USA Today and Suffolk University shows that the gap in the perception of American citizens regarding what is called the role of Washington’s administration in global equations has increased sharply. This survey shows that 46% of American citizens want Washington to play a special role in international and global crises, while 47% of them are against this role and, on the contrary, support the centralization of America within the borders. This means the return of American society to the Monroe Doctrine! This issue showed itself once in the 2016 elections: where many American citizens, without knowing about Trump’s nature, were subjected to his slogan of centralization in the country and avoiding spending huge expenses in the field of American foreign policy.

An enduring conflict in American foreign policy

America’s confrontation with the nature of the world and the ongoing developments in it has not been limited to the current period. Debates about the role the United States should play around the world have existed since the nation’s founding. But now, in 2023, the new generation of America is more inclined towards isolationism in the international system. This is while the operational policy of both the Democratic and Republican parties is exactly against this public demand. We are currently witnessing the formation of a special literature in the field of American foreign policy: the phrase “Why do we send money to foreign countries?” has become a bold question in the cyberspace in America. Dustin Gibbons, 34, a home warranty manager from Queen Creek, Arizona, told USA Today:

“We can’t overcome our own internal problems. We can’t even predict future crises for vulnerable citizens. Why should we focus on the rest of the world?”

Failed doctrines in American foreign policy

In such a situation and context, the American president thinks about failed or doomed doctrines on which he based his game. Today, Biden does not know what special doctrine he should formulate or reconstruct in view of the current developments in the world! The Monroe Doctrine was an American political doctrine that was announced in December 1823 by Monroe, the then President of the United States. Based on this doctrine, the government of the United States of America decided to refrain from interfering in the wars between the European powers and their colonies, and on the other hand, considered the outbreak of war in the American continent as a hostile move. The Monroe Doctrine had a special place in American foreign policy for about a century, until “Wilson” drew a null line on this doctrine by bringing America into the First World War.

The doctrine of “David Eisenhower” is another doctrine that Joe Biden intends to redefine in some cases in the field of American foreign policy. Despite being a Republican, Eisenhower moderated domestic policies during his two terms in office. He sought to strengthen the American alliance with allied countries and prepare Washington to resist the “Red” invasion of Europe, Asia and Latin America. Even the Eisenhower doctrine in 1957 increased the level of his country’s obligations towards the West Asian region, but today there is no “Red invasion” that America wants to apply the Eisenhower doctrine to. Subsequently, America has lost its maneuverability in many parts of the world, and there is no prospect of reviving this lost power. Undoubtedly, in such a situation, Biden’s innovative or hybrid doctrine will not only lead to Washington’s domination of different parts of the world, but it will be considered as a catalyst and an accelerating factor in the path of America’s international isolation. The truth that sooner or later Biden and his companions will face.

A fundamental crisis in America

But now there is a more serious crisis in front of the American rulers that cannot be hidden: that Washington basically lost the power to create a new or hybrid doctrine in the international system due to high risk-taking and the fundamental change of power relations in the world (to the detriment of the United States). have given. In such a situation, most Americans have found more favor and inclination towards the Monroe Doctrine. As people like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have acknowledged, Washington is not in a position to formulate and determine current puzzles and equations in the field of international relations based on unilateralism! Therefore, it should be focused on the former doctrines, among which isolationism will have the least risk for Washington. The acceptance of the American citizens towards the return to the Monroe Doctrine is the result of the absolute failure of both the Democratic and Republican parties in interventionism in the international system.

Now, on the one hand, we are facing an exponential increase in the costs of America’s interventionism and warmongering in the world, and on the other hand, the unipolar system has completely disappeared and collapsed. The situation of the problem in such a situation is quite clear: the innovative or combined doctrines of the likes of Trump and Biden will not only result in Washington dominating different parts of the world, but will also be considered as a catalyst and an accelerating factor in the international isolation of the United States. A truth that sooner or later the hidden and open lobbies of power in Washington will face. The costs of American interventionism in the Ukraine war and the Gaza war are examples of these big failures.
