Balochistan Studies Project: Zionist diversionary plan against the stability of Iran and Pakistan

Iran and Pakistan

PNN – The shared borders of Iran and Pakistan have always witnessed deviant movements supported by terrorist elements from outside the region, especially the Zionist regime, and this concern has been repeatedly expressed by Tehran and Islamabad. However, in their latest move, American-Israeli agents are seeking to achieve negative geopolitical goals by supporting anti-security forces along the border areas of the two neighbors, Iran and Pakistan.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his first official visit to Pakistan in mid-November last year, referred to the phenomenon of cross-border terrorism and its connection with the Zionist regime.

Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said: Iran and Pakistan believe in the close connection between terrorist groups (Jaish al-Dalum) and the Zionist regime, and the sign of this was the simultaneous aggressive action of the Zionist regime and the activation of terrorist groups, and we decided to intensify our actions against these terrorist groups.

Tehran and Islamabad have always had a coordinated position regarding the complicity of third parties and extra-regional forces to destroy peace and strategic stability on the borders of the two neighboring countries, and on this basis, they have strengthened security, political, and economic cooperation mechanisms to suppress security violators.

The colonial goals of the Zionist regime

However, the latest American-Zionist action indicates the launch of the Balochistan Studies Project to exploit terrorist movements and so-called liberation movements.

In this regard, Al Jazeera has published a report on the Israeli regime’s colonial goals to attract rebel forces on the borders of Iran and Pakistan with the aim of achieving geopolitical interests.

The report states: While Israel loudly beat the drums of war with its unprovoked attack on Iran, a small but important piece of news went almost unnoticed the day before: the announcement of a new research project on the website of a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.

On June 12 of this year, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) announced the launch of the Balochistan Studies Project. It is noteworthy that in addition to referring to the abundance of natural resources in Balochistan, such as oil, gas, uranium, copper, coal, rare earth elements, and the two deep-sea ports of Gwadar and Chabahar, the statement of this American institution justified the necessity of this project by introducing this region as an excellent base for confronting and controlling Iran, its nuclear activities, and its relations with Pakistan.

Al Jazeera wrote: The think tank, which was originally founded in 1998, has consistently promoted a pro-Israeli agenda and was founded by a Zionist colonel named Yigal Carmon, who served in Israel’s military intelligence unit for more than 20 years.

Furthermore, the Middle East Media Studies Institute has been “unofficially” involved in gathering information for Israel since at least 2012.

Given this background, the creation of the so-called “Balochistan Studies Project” by the American institute can be seen as a sign of Israel’s attempt to recruit Baloch rebels against Iran and Pakistan for Israel’s geopolitical goals.

The Middle East Media Studies Institute’s statement on the Balochistan Studies Project is full of logical contradictions and misinformation about the reality of exploitation and resistance in Balochistan. For example, the institute’s website, focusing on the fact that Iran and Pakistan are currently fighting an insurgency in Balochistan, urges the international community to understand that Balochistan is a natural ally of the West.

The report continues: Israel’s willingness to support separatist movements opens up new avenues for strengthening its influence in the wider West Asian region. Open support for the separatist movement allows Israel to establish relations with separatist groups in the border areas of Iran and Pakistan.

Given the Israeli regime’s goal of containing and crushing Palestinian resistance, supporting such groups enables the Zionists to actively undermine efforts to build transnational solidarity for the Palestinians.

Al Jazeera wrote: Any action by Israel [the regime] towards Balochistan will also strengthen its strategic cooperation with some of its allies in South Asia, namely India, and this is considered one of the main factors in advancing the so-called Balochistan Studies Project.
