PNN – Eight months after the ceasefire was declared in Lebanon, the Zionist regime is targeting Hezbollah’s military forces and equipment in an attempt to prevent the “reconstruction” of the damage and the military capability of the resistance in various areas.
Eight months after the ceasefire was declared in Lebanon, the security situation in the south of this western country remains “fluid,” and the Zionist regime, by targeting Hezbollah’s military forces and equipment, seeks to prevent the “reconstruction” of the damage and the military power of the resistance in various areas. While the Israeli army’s ground forces are still stationed in five strategic locations in southern Lebanon and have not left the country, pressure from Washington and Tel Aviv to disarm the resistance has increased.
According to reports, Joseph Aoun’s government has conveyed the message to Tom Barak that disarming Hezbollah under the current circumstances will by no means be an “easy” option and must be done gradually after Israel fulfills its commitments. At the same time, the intensification of military movements by forces affiliated with the Golani in southern Syria and the attempt to suppress the “Druzes” like the “Alawites” in the Sahel region sends the message to Hezbollah that accepting the “disarmament” policy means preparing for a new war, this time from Syria. In such circumstances, Israeli officials again threatened that if the process of disarming Hezbollah was not completed, Israel was ready to launch a new wave of attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

What is Tom Barrack looking for?
Tom Barak, the US special representative for Syria, has recently changed his tactics on the issue of Hezbollah disarmament, trying to find a way to deceive the resistance and impose Israeli demands. The government of Joseph Aoun has explicitly stated to the US that a serious attempt to disarm Hezbollah could escalate the conflict and return Lebanon to a civil war.
At the same time, Hezbollah has announced that it is willing to talk with the government regarding the issue of “weapons of resistance” to develop a joint defense strategy. Previously, US Special Envoy Morgan Ortagus had called on the Lebanese government to announce a timetable for Hezbollah’s disarmament, thereby providing the necessary basis for cutting off Hezbollah’s financial arms and disarming 12 Palestinian camps. The failure to fully realize this goal has allowed Tom Barak to break the current “deadlock” by distinguishing between the “military” and “political” branches of Hezbollah and at the same time proposing “selective disarmament,” but for now, it does not seem that he has achieved any success in this regard.
The US special representative for Syria has even sought direct contact with Hezbollah to advance his new plan. Khalil Nasrallah, an expert close to the resistance, tweeted that Tom Barak initially intended to reach out to Hezbollah, but the group refused to have any direct contact with the Americans. Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government and speaks within that framework. Hezbollah favors Lebanese-Lebanese dialogue, and the US is obstructing this path.

Hands on the trigger
The severance of ties between Lebanon’s banking and financial network and the Qard al-Hassan Institution can be attributed to US pressure on Beirut aimed at systematically weakening Hezbollah in Lebanon’s political and social sphere. In other words, Trump and Netanyahu are opposed to the completion of the “reconstruction” project in Lebanon. The educational and research institute “Alma” has discussed the reconstruction of the Lebanese suburbs in an article. The author of this article claims that Hezbollah is acting as a state and is rebuilding its military infrastructure.
The Hebrew media outlet “Ma’ariv” claimed in an article that Hezbollah is preparing for the next war under the guise of reconstruction! The authors of this article claim that in the shadow of the collapse of Lebanese government institutions, Hezbollah is actually filling the void and taking over the process of rebuilding the suburbs, but this is being done at the same time as restoring military infrastructure! These biased materials are being presented by Israeli media as the experience of the last few months has shown that the Netanyahu government, regardless of international borders, intends to cross all political, legal, and security red lines and change the face of the Middle East!
Hezbollah has announced in its latest message to Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri that even if Israel withdraws from southern Lebanon, the group will not be willing to surrender its weapons under any circumstances. Although this stance has caused “great anger” in the Lebanese government, it seems to be rooted in the “geopolitical” reality that is currently occurring. Barak, the US special representative for Syria, has explicitly threatened, by comparing Damascus and Beirut, that it is possible for Syria to completely occupy Lebanon and turn it into part of its territory! At the same time, the movements of Golani forces on the borders of Iraq and Lebanon have significantly increased, and there is a risk that Golani will become a ground force for American and Israeli fighters in the region.
In such an unstable and threatening environment, it seems the wisest option is not to give in to the illegitimate demands of foreign actors and to maintain the weapon of resistance as the only deterrent against external threats. On this correct path, the existence of deceptive proposals such as surrendering “heavy weapons” and retaining Hezbollah’s light weapons is only a “mirage” that giving in to could pave the way for the slaughter of the Lebanese people. Accelerating the process of rebuilding Hezbollah’s military capabilities will enable this deep-rooted resistance group to take action in any potential conflict in the region and narrow the circle of pressure on the occupied territories. Undoubtedly, the experience of the September 2024 war has many lessons for Hezbollah, learning from which could lead to the “phoenix-like” emergence of this resistance arm and once again turn the northern front into a nightmare for the Zionists.
