Chinese expert: Soleimani’s resistance will continue.
Li Jianan, head of the China Media Group office in Tehran, said in an exclusive interview with the Asia-Pacific correspondent of the Islamic Republic News, that the United States (the Trump administration) deliberately assassinated General Qassem Soleimani by carrying out an airstrike at Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020, and displayed a bloody manifestation of its regional hegemonic policy.
Stating that the assassination of martyr Soleimani was a clear violation of international law, he added: General Soleimani was committed to confronting extremist groups and maintaining regional stability during his lifetime and made a prominent contribution to curbing the spread of terrorism, but he became a target of assassination because he prevented the spread of American hegemony in West Asia.
This Chinese expert emphasized that the United States has been pursuing interventionist policies in West Asia for years, abusing the slogan of “democracy, and has caused division and instability in the region.
Li stated that the US and Israel recklessly interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and added: “By disrupting the situation in the region, they have caused the continuation of war in countries such as Lebanon and Yemen and displaced millions of people. Also, this unilateral approach and force-based policy have been widely condemned by the countries of the region and the international community.
Referring to the attacks by the Zionist regime and the US on Iranian soil, he stated that this action once again revealed their hegemonic nature and disregard for the sovereignty of countries and the stability of the region, but pressure and suppression have never destroyed the will to resist.”
At the end of his conversation, Li also noted that the steps of the Iranian resistance in recent years have never stopped, and in the future, Iran will continue to support the just ideals in West Asia, especially in supporting and upholding the inherent rights of the Palestinian people.
The Chinese expert emphasized that, as Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized, the seed of resistance sown by General Soleimani has now taken root and borne fruit, and as long as the United States and Israel continue their hegemony with violence, the resistance and the response to it in West Asia will never end.
