Egyptian analysts: Israel violated the signed treaties by entering Philadelphia

PNN – The entry of the Zionist regime’s military into the Philadelphia (Salahuddin) axis after 19 years has occupied Egyptian political analysts and observers.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting from Rai Elium, after the soldiers of the Zionist regime entered the Philadelphia axis for the first time after 19 years, Egyptian analysts reacted to this issue and called for a strong stance against Tel Aviv for violating the compromise agreement and the Philadelphia agreement, and considered this regime’s move as considered a threat to the security, interests and sovereignty of Egypt.

Egyptian analyst “Farghly Taha” said about the dangerousness of what the Zionist regime has done that with the entry of the Zionist forces into the Palestinian crossing of Rafah and the Philadelphia axis near the crossing and the borders of Egypt, this action is a violation of the Compromise Treaty of 1979 and the Philadelphia Agreement, signed in 2005.

Referring to Cairo’s passive position in this regard, he said: Egypt’s position is not as it should be to support Palestine. This country should take a strong position politically and militarily to prevent Israel’s attack on Rafah. If, as we hoped, Egypt would adopt the position of the Arab countries against America and Israel and threaten to enter Rafah with the coordination of Gaza to prevent the entry of Israeli forces, America and the Israeli regime would dare to escalate tension-causing measures and war with Egypt in the region.

“Fawzi Al-Ashmawi”, another Egyptian analyst, also called for Egypt’s aggressive position in the light of Cairo’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as Hamas’s agreement with the Egyptian-Qatari plan, especially after the Zionist regime’s military attack on Rafah and the movement of this regime’s tanks towards Philadelphia crossing for the first time in nineteen years.

Pointing out that this action of the Zionist regime is a violation of the agreements signed between Egypt and the Zionist regime, he demanded that Cairo take a decisive position and counter the attack of this regime, which threatens the security, interests and sovereignty of Egypt.

This Egyptian analyst added: A simple and peaceful statement is not like declaring war and threatening to cut off relations with America or any other country, but this statement completely removes the Arab world from the current situation.

Meanwhile, Major General Ali Hefzi, the former assistant to the Egyptian Defense Minister, stated to Al-Arabiya that the axis of “Philadelphia” is a Palestinian buffer zone between Egypt and the Gaza Strip and said: The Egyptian armed forces provide high security for the country’s borders, and no Israeli forces can approach it because it is a red line.

He added that the Philadelphia axis is 14 kilometers long and based on the compromise agreement, it is possible to deploy limited and specific forces in it with the coordination of the two sides, which provides patrolling operations to prevent smuggling, infiltration and other criminal activities.

Hefzi continued that according to the compromise agreement between Egypt and Israel, this axis allows the presence of limited Israeli military forces and UN observers, but prohibits any presence of tanks, artillery or missiles. Also, according to the compromise agreement, both Egyptian and Israeli parties are committed to resolve all disputes that arise between them through peaceful means by refraining from threats or resorting to force against the other, directly or indirectly.

This is the stance of Egyptian analysts while the Israeli military entered the Philadelphia axis on Tuesday, May 18, for the first time after 19 years. According to the reconciliation agreement between Egypt and the Zionist regime in 1979, the Philadelphia axis or Salah al-Din is considered a buffer zone between the border of the two sides and is subject to the conditions and standards of crossing from the Palestinian territories to Egypt. In the compromise agreement, it is stated that for any action in this axis, Egypt will deploy a number of its forces to ensure its security based on the protocol signed with Tel Aviv.
