Foreign Affairs: A dark future awaits Israel

PNN – “Foreign Affairs” magazine, describing the critical political and social conditions of the Israeli society and warning about the increasing existential threats against the Zionist regime inside and outside the occupied territories, predicted that if this trend continues after the Gaza war, a dark future awaits Israel.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report from this analytical media, the war in Gaza and the socio-political conditions before it in the occupied territories have made it more difficult than ever for Israeli politicians to continue and have brought this regime to the point of failure.

This analysis went on to point out that the Zionist regime is on an extremely illiberal, violent and destructive path and added: Israel is headed for a darker future, on a path that has become increasingly authoritarian in its treatment not only of Palestinians, but of Israeli citizens as well. On the other hand, it may quickly lose many of the friends it still has and collapse while being isolated and facing internal turmoil.

Referring to the dangerous situation Israel is currently in, Foreign Affairs does not consider the above predictions to be strange and unbelievable and writes: Israeli governments have always overseen the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, jeopardizing the prospect of an independent Palestinian state in the future. The war in Gaza, during which Israeli forces have killed around 40,000 people (according to media reports), shows the regime at work that seems unable or unwilling to support its purported vision.

Referring to the spread of extremist thinking in Israeli society, Foreign Affairs wrote: This position can become a broad consensus among Israeli Jews, and Israel will become more sovereign under the domination of the extreme right. Israel is now increasingly isolated internationally and several international organizations are seeking punitive legal and diplomatic measures against it. Genocide case at the International Court of Justice and its recent opinion on the illegality of the occupation of Palestinian territories, the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court against Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel and Yoav Galant, numerous valid accusations of war crimes and human rights violations, it has brought difficulty to Israel’s global position. Meanwhile, the impact of negative public opinion, legal challenges and diplomatic rebuke, even with the support of the regime’s key allies, has increasingly marginalized Israel on the world stage.

Continuing his prediction about the dark future of Israel, Foreign Affairs added: If Netanyahu and his allies continue with their current approach, Israel will be on an unstable path that will eventually lead to the flight of capital and brains and the escalation of internal pressures. On the other hand, with the illiberal turn of Israel’s socio-political society, growing gaps remain in it, and differences can go as far as civil war.

At the end of this analysis, referring to the Gaza war and warning about the future and fate of Israel, he wrote: The conflict in Gaza has exacerbated political divisions within Israel, particularly between right-wing groups supporting extreme military and security measures and those advocating a more conciliatory approach towards the Palestinians. The war has also deepened the divisions between secular and religious Jews. In this situation, the state (the Israeli regime) will not be able to fulfill any of its traditional political responsibilities, including providing security and a stable legislative system of governance that guarantees accountability. The presence of competing security groups and weak parliamentary oversight undermine Israel’s overall security. In general, it can be said that the path Israel is on is not the path of victory.
