PNN – The escalation of Zionist brutality in Gaza and the increase in the number of Palestinian martyrs are the result of the beginning of the Zionist regime’s new war plan, which is set to continue for several months.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, the Zionist regime’s security cabinet approved the “Gideon’s Chariots” operation plan at the beginning of May, claiming to achieve a military and political victory in Gaza, but in practice aiming to continue its genocide and barbarity against Palestinian citizens.
The operation consists of three stages, and during it, it is planned to use five pressure factors against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Forces (Hamas) in order to perhaps, according to the Zionists, force them to accept an agreement to hand over prisoners and disarm the resistance without stopping the war in Gaza. In this regard, the Israeli army has begun calling up tens of thousands of its reserve forces.
Objectives of the operation
According to the Israeli media agency on May 5th of this year, this operation was carried out with the aim of completely occupying Gaza.

Naming
This operation is called “Mirkafot Gideon” in Hebrew, which means Gideon’s chariots. This name has Talmudic, historical, and military connotations for the Zionists. During the Nakba of 1948, the Zionist regime named one of its military operations “Operation Gideon,” which aimed to take control of the Besan region of Palestine and expel its inhabitants.
The name Gideon’s Chariots refers to the expansion of the war in the Gaza Strip and the Zionists’ determination to occupy this war-torn region. It is predicted that as a result of this operation, the Zionists’ brutality in Gaza will be much more severe than before, just as during Operation Gideon, the Palestinians in the Baysan region were targeted by the Zionist regime for genocide. Gideon means warrior and is the name of a Biblical character mentioned in the Book of Judges.
Operation Gideon 1948
This operation was one of the last operations carried out by the Zionist and terrorist Haganah militias against the Palestinians before the end of the British Mandate in Palestine. The aim of this operation was to take control of the city of Beisan. This operation was carried out by the Golani Brigade on May 10 and 15, 1948, and the Zionists succeeded in taking control of the region’s lands by genocide of a large number of Palestinians.
Stages of Gideon’s Chariot Operation
According to official Israeli media, the aim of this operation is to expand the scope of the war in Gaza in the first phase, which is likely to last for several months. In this phase, the residents of northern Gaza are to be completely evacuated from the area and moved to southern Gaza, and the Israeli army will be deployed in the northern areas.
The Israeli regime will use civilian companies to draw up a map of the military’s presence. According to this plan, the Israeli regime will declare Rafah and the area behind the “Morag Line” as a safe zone, and entry to these areas will be subject to inspection by the Zionists.
The Israeli army claims that in the second phase, it will advance a humanitarian plan that will include air operations alongside ground attacks, and in this phase, civilian residents are to be transferred to “safe havens” in Rafah.
In the third phase of this plan, the Israeli regime is undertaking a large-scale and gradual occupation of large parts of northern Gaza in order to ensure its long-term military presence in the region to eliminate Hamas and completely destroy the Gaza tunnels.
The Zionist regime had previously completely occupied the northern areas of Gaza, but during this long period it was unable to end the existence and operations of Hamas forces in this area and destroy their tunnels. During this period, the Zionists repeatedly faced deadly ambushes by the resistance forces and lost a large number of their forces.
