PNN – The Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General emphasized that the party reserves the right to respond to the crime of the Zionist regime in the assassination of Martyr Haitham al-Tabatabai and will determine the timing of such a response.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting Al-Manar, Naeem Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon, at the memorial ceremony of Martyr Haitham al-Tabatabai, stated: This great martyr left an important impact during a historical and sensitive phase. He combined his faithful character with a strategic vision. Martyr al-Tabatabai advanced the special forces project over four years and stood against the Zionist regime’s aggression in 2006 in the al-Khiyam area. The Zionist enemy’s objective in assassinating this prominent figure was to destroy the morale of the forces. However, this goal was not achieved and will not be achieved, and we continue moving along the same line.
He added: We are present in an open field where the Zionist enemy operates easily in coordination with the intelligence services of the United States and Western and Arab countries. Addressing the Zionist enemy, I say that we will continue our resistance. Martyr al-Tabatabai had a clear impact on the Yemen battlefield as he went to the country to train forces and became popular among the Yemenis. Losing this martyr is a heavy loss, but he reached his ultimate purpose and bliss through this martyrdom. We have sacrificed thousands of martyrs, yet in every stage we were able to rebuild our strength and fully replace the commanders.

A ceasefire is an achievement for Lebanese resistance
Naeem Qassem stated: The assassination of this martyr and his companions was an overt aggression and crime, and we reserve the right to respond to this crime, determining the timing ourselves. He was present in various battlefields including Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. We must learn from past mistakes and fill the gaps. The ceasefire in Lebanon was a victory and an achievement for the resistance, Hezbollah, and the country because we prevented the enemy from achieving its goals, especially the elimination of the resistance. We also welcomed the Vatican Pope’s visit to Lebanon and sent a message from Hezbollah to the Pope. This message has been communicated to the Vatican Embassy.
We are in a new phase
The Hezbollah Secretary-General added: We are in a new phase, and Lebanon’s sovereignty is responsible. Israel must withdraw from Lebanon, halt its aggressions, and release the prisoners. Israel’s aggression is against the entire Lebanon, not only the resistance. Should the President not be attacked for acting wisely and the army commander for maintaining internal peace? Today we witness air aggressions by the Zionist regime against Lebanon. All of Lebanon is responsible for defending the country, primarily the government, which has agreed to this plan and declared its intent to take initiative. Deterrence against the enemy is manifested in liberating areas, supporting, or preventing enemy elements from settling in the occupied land. The primary responsibility for these actions lies with the government, which so far has freed no areas and must prevent enemy presence in our territory.
Supporters of Israel in Lebanon hinder the country’s growth
He emphasized: The government has chosen the diplomatic option to prevent the enemy from settling in Lebanon. Israel knows it cannot establish itself in Lebanon in the presence of the resistance. We tell the government that we are ready to defend, and sovereignty must utilize this readiness. Within Lebanon, there are groups willing to confront Israel, so this issue is not exclusively the responsibility of the resistance. Israel’s supporters in Lebanon are few but cause problems because, together with the U.S. and Tel Aviv, they obstruct the country’s stability and growth. The resistance’s arms prevent the implementation of Israel’s project, and anyone who seeks to disarm them, as Israel desires, serves this regime. After all the pressures of the past year, the enemy realized that these pressures have failed.
The people of Syria will never surrender to Israel
Naeem Qassem stated: There is a possibility of war or no war because Israel and the U.S. are evaluating their options. Whatever they do, this nation will not be defeated or surrender. The solution is to stop Israeli aggressions, and if these aggressions continue, the government must threaten the enemy using its options and capabilities. The blood of our martyrs will never go wasted. It is in the interest of the Lebanese people to be united; only then will outsiders submit to our will. The operation in Beit Jinn, on the outskirts of Damascus, demonstrated that the Syrian people will never accept surrender to Israel, which is a positive and correct sign. Granting concessions encourages the enemy’s greed. Israel seeks to turn Lebanon into its private backyard.
