PNN – Israel’s Channel 12 reported that, as the first phase of Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza City began, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided not to respond to the mediators’ proposal 48 hours after receiving Hamas’s response.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Arabiya, the Israeli network reported that Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer met with senior Qatari officials in Paris to discuss the Gaza proposal and informed them that the condition for concluding a ceasefire agreement is the release of all prisoners.

At the same time, Israeli television announced that there was no intention to send a delegation to negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza in the near future.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced his opposition to the recent proposal by Egyptian and Qatari mediators regarding Gaza.

Israel Radio and Television reported on Tuesday, citing a source in Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, that he opposes the new proposal on the Gaza Strip that Hamas has announced its agreement to.

The source also explained that the Israeli prime minister opposed a partial deal and demanded the release of all hostages simultaneously. We will not leave any hostages behind, he said.

Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry announced that it had received, along with Egypt, a positive response from Hamas to the proposed plan on Gaza and was now awaiting Israel’s response. The ministry had expressed hope that a quick and positive response would be received from Israel regarding the proposed Gaza agreement.

According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, implementing this agreement in Gaza will take time.

Majid Al-Ansari, a spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, said at a press conference on Tuesday that the group’s latest response was largely in line with what Israel had previously agreed to.

In this regard, Israeli media reported, citing army spokesperson Ivy Dufferin, that Israel has begun the initial stages of its attack on Gaza City.

Dufferin explained: We will intensify our strikes against Hamas in Gaza City; preparatory operations for the attack have begun, and we will also create the necessary conditions for the return of the hostages in accordance with the instructions of the political leadership.

It is worth noting that Israel announced in early August that it was preparing to take control of Gaza City and the surrounding refugee camps with the aim of defeating the Hamas movement and freeing the hostages who were kidnapped during the October 7, 2023 attack.

According to the proposal, 10 live Israeli hostages are to be handed over, along with 18 bodies, half of whom will be released on the first day and the rest on the seventh. In return, Israel will hand over 125 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 1,111 Gaza prisoners arrested after October 7, and 180 bodies of Palestinians killed.
