Reflecting the Supreme Leader of the Revolution’s statements about negotiations with the United States in the Associated Press news agency

PNN – The American news agency Associated Press reflected the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, about negotiations with the United States, following the recent words of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who withdrew from the nuclear agreement with Iran in 2018 and now calls for an agreement with Tehran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Associated Press reported: Iran’s supreme leader said on Friday that talks with the US are not “smart, wise and honorable” after US President Donald Trump raised the issue of nuclear talks with Tehran.

This American media added, Ayatollah Khamenei, on the anniversary of the historic pledge of allegiance by the Air Force and Air Force personnel to Imam Khomeini, in a meeting with the commander and a group of air force and defense personnel of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, also said that we should not negotiate with such a government, but they did not issue a direct order to “not interact with Washington”.

Iran’s Supreme Leader noted that Trump unilaterally withdrew from the previous nuclear deal, under which Iran significantly limited uranium enrichment and total stockpiles of this material, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

The Associated Press news agency also addressed another part of the Supreme Leader’s statements and quoted him as saying: The Americans did not stick to their agreement. The same person who is at work today broke the agreement. He said he would and he did.

This American media then quoted the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution and wrote: This is an experience that we should learn from. We negotiated, agreed, and compromised, but we did not achieve the results we intended. And despite all the objections, the other party finally violated and destroyed the agreement.

The Associated Press wrote that Iranian diplomats have long pointed to Ayatollah Khamenei’s statements as a binding fatwa or religious ruling that Iran will not build a nuclear bomb.

Trump, who expressed hope for reaching an agreement with Iran many times during his second term as president, on February 4, 2025, by signing a memorandum to continue the policy of maximum pressure against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he claimed that he was ready to talk with the Iranian president. Claiming that he was “hesitant” to sign this memorandum, he claimed: “This is very difficult for Iran.” I hope we don’t have to use it too much. It remains to be seen whether we can reach an agreement with Iran.

The President of the United States, repeating Washington’s claims that the Islamic Republic of Iran is close to building nuclear weapons, claimed: Iran should not have nuclear weapons. We do not want to impose too much strictness on Iran.

In a message on the “Truth Social” social network, Trump claimed: I want Iran to be a big and successful country, but a country that should not have nuclear weapons. The reports that claim that the United States, in cooperation with Israel, is planning to destroy Iran are greatly exaggerated. I would rather have a peaceful and verifiable nuclear deal that allows Iran to grow and prosper peacefully.

The President of the United States added: We must work on this issue immediately and when the agreement is signed, hold a big Middle Eastern celebration. May God protect the Middle East!

“Mohammed reza Aref”, the first vice president of Iran, in his first reaction to the statements of the American president, stated that it cannot be said that a meeting between two people is impossible, and emphasized: Meeting and negotiating with President Trump is not on the agenda of the Islamic Republic today.

Following Trump’s note, the United States Treasury announced that it has imposed new sanctions on Iran in the fields of energy, shipping and oil, which is the first sanction of Donald Trump’s administration in the second term of his presidency.

The Treasury Department of the Trump administration claimed on Thursday local time (February 6, 2025) that it is targeting the oil network that generates hundreds of millions of dollars for the Iranian military.
