The expectations of the Muslims of the world from Türkiye

PNN – Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Türkiye, as one of the Islamic countries, has been subjected to judgment by Muslims in all parts of the world. Muslims inside and outside this country clearly expect Turkey, as an Islamic country, to take a stronger position in support of the people of Gaza and be their voice in international forums.

Based on this, during the past year of the Gaza war and countless crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the people of this region, Ankara has taken various policies; From trying to mediate between the parties to playing a role as a peace-keeping military force or a guarantor of the cease-fire that has followed in Syria, none of them have reached any results and neither the Islamic world nor the Western world has paid much attention to it.

In the meantime, it is noteworthy that the type of action of Türkiye in political positions has been completely different from operational areas. In the field of political stance, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emphasized that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to expand the war in the region will lead to disaster. He also called Netanyahu a mental patient and considered the silence of Western countries towards him to lead to the spread of war in the entire region.

At the same time, with the announcement of the Turkish authorities, including the president, foreign minister and commerce minister of this country, Ankara stopped its commercial relations with the Zionist regime from the beginning of the fifth month. However, the reports published in this regard show fundamental differences with the official positions.

In this regard, the Middle East Eye website, in a report referring to the continuation of trade between Turkey and the Zionist regime through third countries, revealed that Turkey, which has re-routed its goods from Greece and other neighboring countries to reach Israel since the beginning of May. The data also show that Türkiye’s exports to Greece reached 375 million dollars in May, which is 71% more than 219 million dollars in the same month last year.

Referring to the report of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) of the Zionist regime, which still records Turkish goods, this publication said: Israel imported 116 million dollars of goods from Turkey in May, which is 377 million dollars in the same month last year. The percentage has decreased. This report shows that for some reason, Turkey has tried to stop or reduce its business relations with the Zionist regime, but this process is followed through third countries.

It is interesting to note that, according to the statements of a member of the Turkish parliament, this country played an important role in supplying weapons to the Zionist regime.

Omar Farooq, a representative of the People’s Democratic Party, in a speech in the Turkish Parliament, condemned the CEO of Bayrakdar Company for trading arms with Israel through the Republic of Azerbaijan and stated: Look; this is an arms exhibition in Azerbaijan.  The sponsor of this exhibition is the Baykar Company of Seljuk Bayrakdar, Erdoğan’s son-in-law. Azerbaijan, which you call “two states and one nation”, drinks wine with Israel. Friends, don’t shed crocodile tears here, the pipeline from Baku to Ceyhan should be cut. We can prevent the loading of oil on Ceyhan tankers, Turkey can do this to us and they say there is a brother of international law, we cannot prevent it.

In addition to the direct trade in military weapons, the statistics report a significant increase in the parity of Ankara’s steel exports to Tel Aviv. According to the statistics published by the Turkish Exporters Association (TIM), in the last 8 months, Turkish steel exports to Palestine have increased 100 times. It is noteworthy that the Zionist regime uses steel in the production of its weapons of mass destruction. In this way, Israel supplies 65% of its steel needs for the production of weapons of mass destruction through Türkiye.

In addition to arms and steel trade, oil and energy trade has also caused a lot of noise between Türkiye and the Zionist regime. In protest of Turkey’s oil trade with the Israeli regime, the youth of this country have held a protest rally several times in front of the branch of the National Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan known as SOCAR. Sokar Oil Company has extensive oil trade with Israel, and the failure of the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey to prevent this trade has caused Turkish freedom-loving youth to hold protest rallies in front of this company on several occasions.

Meanwhile, Muslims’ expectations from Türkiye can be defined in three areas:

  1. Considering Turkey’s civilizational background and the position of this country as a Muslim and modern country in the Islamic world, Turkey is expected to stand in front of Israel in a way that befits this country, both politically and in terms of resistance support and oppose the common enemy (Israel).
  2. The closure of the Incirlik base and the Koreh Jaik radar base, which are in the service of NATO and Israel. According to the statements of the Turkish media on the night of Iran’s retaliatory operation against Israel, this radar base has given fast and early warnings to NATO and consequently to Israel, which has strengthened Israel’s readiness and defense.
  3. Due to the widespread and bloody consequences of the conflicts imposed by the Israeli regime, the termination of Turkey’s economic and diplomatic relations with Israel is the general demand of Muslims around the world.
  4. Türkiye plays an effective role in supplying energy to the Zionist regime, and Muslims around the world want Ankara’s participation in this regard.

In any case, Türkiye’s actions towards Israel have caused the status of this country to decline sharply among Muslims. During the past year, Muslims have witnessed that despite the harsh statements of the Turkish authorities against the Zionist regime, most of the needs of this regime, from steel, iron and cloth to oil and even military clothing, are supplied from Turkey or through this country. This issue has caused Muslim pessimism towards Ankara and the frustration of the Turkish people towards their statesmen.
