The impact of Al-Aqsa storm on Israeli tourism

PNN – In addition to the labor and employment crisis, one of the most vital sources of income for the Zionist regime is the tourism sector, and the Al-Aqsa storm has dealt a heavy blow to this sector.

According to the report of the International group of Pakistan News Network, based on the announced statistics, quoted by Al-Mayadin, the tourism income of the Zionist regime was more than 5.5 billion dollars last year, which will experience a sharp downward trend this year due to the conflicts and of course the political problems in this country. According to the announced statistics, most of the tourists are from America, France, Germany and England.

It goes without saying that after the rocket attacks on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Ramon and Haifa airports were also disabled and all international airlines stopped their flights to this area. Also, the aviation insurance companies canceled the insurance coverage of the companies based in this regime against the risks of war by issuing a notice. The damages of the Israeli aviation sector have so far reached about 1.6 billion dollars, which is an average of 100 million dollars per day. All these cases show the expected losses in the tourism sector of the Zionist regime, whose income reached more than 3.4 billion dollars in 2022 and has suffered about 98 million dollars in daily losses since the start of the war (New Al-Arabi).

In addition, according to the statistics of the Secret Flight website, many foreign airlines have stopped operating in the occupied territories during the past days and after the beginning of the military conflict between the Palestinian resistance forces and the Zionist regime, and some of them have also been forced to close their offices.

According to Reuters, American Delta Air Lines, Norwegian Air Lines, Dutch KLM Airlines, and two major American companies including United and American Airlines have canceled their flights to Tel Aviv. According to CBS, other major airlines including Lufthansa, France, Emirates, Ryanair, Aegan Airlines and Lufthansa-owned Brussels Airlines have also canceled their flights to Tel Aviv.

According to Reuters, tourist traffic in Israel fell by 76 percent year-on-year last October due to the war in the Gaza Strip and the cancellation of most flights to and from Tel Aviv.

According to the monthly report of the Israel Statistics Office, 89.7 thousand tourists traveled to Israel in October, most of them had entered the Zionist regime before the seventh day of the same month (before the start of the Al-Aqsa storm operation).

According to the report of the tourism center of the Zionist regime, foreign tourists to Israel in the same period last year exceeded 370,000 people, which shows the amount of damage caused to that part due to the operation of “Al-Aqsa Storm” by Hamas on the settlements and the subsequent Israeli war against Gaza.

Since the end of the coronavirus pandemic, Israel has run promotional campaigns for visits in an attempt to return to 2019 numbers, which were not broken until the end of 2022, according to Israeli census data. Earlier, a report by the website Secret Flights, which tracks flights, showed an average of 80 percent fewer flights at Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv since the war began.
