PNN – The Independent wrote that military action against Iran without a clear plan for its outcome and without a direct threat from Iran against the United States is a path that will lead to failure.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, US President Donald Trump, with his chaotic and unprincipled foreign policy actions, may temporarily halt Russia’s bombing of Ukraine, but the main danger lies in his possible demands for this temporary ceasefire, which would likely include surrendering vital Ukrainian defense positions to Russia.
Instead, the Trump administration is seeking concessions such as halting Iran’s nuclear and missile programs and Tehran’s alleged support for regional resistance groups by increasing its military power and threatening military action against Iran, including sending aircraft carriers to West Asia.
The British newspaper The Independent wrote: The US’s cutting off of military aid to Ukraine and pressuring Kiev to agree to cede Donetsk and much of Zaporizhia and Kherson shows that US support for a Western democracy has eroded under the Trump administration.
The US President had previously threatened military action against Iran by promising to help Iranian protesters during the livelihood protests of the people and businesses in January, which, according to Tehran, were turned into chaos and violence by terrorist elements affiliated with the US and the Zionist regime.

Oil and favoritism for the Zionist regime: Trump’s motivations for military intervention in Iran
According to the Independent, Trump’s motivation now could be to provide access to Iranian energy markets for American companies, similar to the Venezuela scenario, and to serve the Zionist regime, which claims that Iran is an existential threat to it.
The British publication further claimed that a possible US military attack on Iran could lead to the collapse of the regime and the outbreak of civil war, in which case Iran’s experienced security forces would be able to further destabilize the region.
The article claims that this situation, given the genocidal war in Gaza, may unleash a new wave of global terrorism against America’s allies.
Meanwhile, according to the Independent’s analysis, Ukraine, in dire need of US military support to defend against massive airstrikes, requires US intervention, and Trump could focus on this issue given the consequences of Ukraine’s defeat for Washington’s allies.

Military intervention in Iran, unlike Ukraine, would be a lose-lose equation for the US
The British publication wrote about the need for US support for Ukraine in exchange for military intervention in Iran: Ukraine now has an experienced army of one million. Linking Kiev to Europe and ultimately NATO could reduce US costs for Trump, who wants Europe to pay more for its security. According to the Kiel Institute, the cost of stopping aid to Ukraine would be 10 to 20 times higher than the 1 percent of Germany’s GDP that supporting Ukraine currently costs the country.
Given the displacement of approximately 10.6 million Ukrainians from their homes and the refugee status of nearly 6 million Ukrainians in other European countries, if Trump is looking for a humanitarian justification for using American weapons without any risk to the country’s military, that justification lies in Ukraine, not Iran.
According to The Independent, Trump tends to support those who win. Europe’s task now is to convince him that supporting Ukraine would be a win-win situation for the US. This is while attacking Iran is a lose-lose situation.
