PNN – In order to further expand and compete for influence in Syria, the Israeli regime is trying to exploit the Druze tribe in southern Syria for its own interests by declaring support for them and creating a rift between them and other Syrian citizens.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, one of the constant approaches of the Israeli regime since its illegitimate establishment with the support of the hegemonic regime and the West has been to divide the countries of the region in order to secure its own interests. In other words, the interests of this regime lie in insecurity, instability, chaos, and of course, the further disintegration and weakening of the countries in the region.
This is why Tel Aviv has been seeking to implement the “project to divide the countries of the region” during this period, and in this regard, it considers one of the tools for advancing this policy to be the creation and expansion of ethnic and religious differences between the various minorities and tribes in the region.
Also, the intensification of the differences between Shiites and Sunnis and the various intellectual and political currents in the region are all considered tools for the Israeli regime to advance this project, which it plans in each country and in accordance with its goals and uses those tools in line with its own interests.
Recently, we have witnessed that the Israeli regime is trying to launch another conspiracy to further its expansionist agenda in southern Syria, for which it also has its own tool: using the Druze tribe living in southern Syria.
It seems that by bringing up the Druze, the Israeli regime is seeking to create greater capacity in them in Syria and the possibility of exploiting that tribe to secure its own interests, one of which could be superiority in the competition they have with Ankara in expanding their influence in Syria.

The history of the Druze’s relationship with the Israeli regime
In fact, experts believe that the Zionist regime, with the aim of dividing and neutralizing potential threats from Syrian soil, is seeking to increase tension by using “incitement of the Druze tribe” against the structure of the new Syrian rulers, and they consider the regime’s actions a serious threat to Syria.
In fact, this is what the Israeli army commanders hoped to achieve by penetrating the Syrian Druze.
But who are the Druze? The Druze are a religious and cultural group that lives mainly in Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, Syria, and the occupied Palestinian territories. They have a unique history and characteristics that can be studied and reflected on from religious, historical, and ethnic perspectives. Of course, their dispersion is such that part of the population of this tribe also lives in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
The Israeli regime’s support for the residents of the Druze village of Jaramana
According to a report by the Israeli Channel 14, following Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz’s announcement to the Israeli army to support the Druze living in southern Syria against the country’s rulers, dozens of armed residents of the Druze village of Jarmana engaged in provocative behavior, leading to increased tension.
According to this Zionist source, two members of the internal security forces affiliated with the new Syrian ruling structure were killed by armed Druze in the clash. Following the escalation of tensions and the killing of these individuals, security officials of the new Syrian government asked the elders of the village to hand over the perpetrators of the clash.
The “Netanyahu-Kats Joint Statement” states: We will not allow the new Syrian regime to harm the Druze. We have ordered the Israeli army to prepare and deliver a clear warning message against the regime ruling Syria.
They added: If the Syrian regime threatens and harms the Druze tribe, it will face a serious Israeli response. Netanyahu and Katz said: We are committed to our Druze brothers in Israel (the occupied Palestinian territories). They will take action to prevent harm to their Druze brothers in Syria; we will also take all necessary measures to protect the security of the Druze citizens of Israel (the occupied Palestinian territories).
Clashes between Syrian Druze and Golani forces
The Israeli regime’s provocation of the Druze and its declaration of support for them against the Syrian ruling body led to conflict and tension between the two sides, with the media reporting heavy clashes between armed Druze groups in the city of Jamana on the outskirts of Damascus and forces loyal to “Ahmad al-Sharaa”, nicknamed “Abu Muhammad al-Julani”, the head of the interim Syrian government.
In this connection, a delegation from Sweida province arrived in the city of Jaramana as part of efforts to reduce tensions with the Syrian interim government.
Meanwhile, some media outlets reported that the Druze militias of Sweida attacked Jaramana in the Damascus suburbs, taking the area out of the control of the Golani government.
According to this report, the Druze Military Council has declared readiness and the Druze of Sweida have taken to the streets and are ready to be sent to Damascus to fight forces loyal to al-Jolani.
Some social media platforms also published images of the killing of a number of security forces affiliated with the Syrian interim government in the city of Jaramana and the joy of the city’s people after taking control of it from the Syrian interim government forces.
5-day opportunity for the Druze
Following the clashes between the two sides, Syrian security officials gave the Jaramana militants five days to hand over their weapons and remove the barriers. Security and military forces have also arrived in Jaramana and set up checkpoints around it.
In these circumstances, it remains to be seen how and to what extent these conflicts between the two sides will ultimately progress.
Division of Syria into several cantons
The Zionist newspaper “Israel Hume” revealed a secret high-level meeting of the Zionist regime’s cabinet and, quoting senior political sources in the Zionist regime, wrote that the meeting proposed holding an international conference to divide Syria into several cantons (separate parts) to ensure the security of the northern borders of the occupied territories against threats from opposition groups.
The media outlet added that in the meeting, which was held a few days ago under the chairmanship of Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz on the topic of “The Day after Syria,” it was proposed that Syria be divided into several cantons. Katz has presented this proposal to Netanyahu, and a meeting is scheduled to be held to discuss this issue, especially since Turkey, which is considered a threat to the Israeli regime, has infiltrated Syria.
In addition, political sources in Tel Aviv reported that the meeting is scheduled to discuss developments in Syria, the Golani positions, and concerns about the security of the Druze and Kurds in Syria, two minorities close to the Zionist regime.
According to reports published in this regard, this action is a response to a request from the leaders of the Druze community in the occupied Golan, who asked for help for their relatives in Syria after the deterioration of the situation following the fall of the country’s previous regime.
Druze does not need a certificate of qualification from anyone.
Talal Arslan, head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, referred to the Zionist regime’s efforts to occupy Druze areas in southern Syria and announced Tel Aviv’s support for this minority, saying: The Druze are genuine Arabs who do not need any certification from anyone, and they have paid a very high price by sacrificing their lives to support Syria.
Talal Arslan, posting a message on the social network “X”, wrote: We warned two days ago about Israel’s excesses and the danger of their expansion inside Syria.
This Lebanese Druze political figure added: Druzes are genuine Arabs who do not need a certificate of qualification from anyone.
He emphasized: The Druze in Syria have paid a very high price by sacrificing their lives to protect this land and the honor of this country.
