The reasons for the support of the Indian government to the Zionist regime in the midst of continuous aggression in the Gaza Strip

PNN – The policies of the Indian government towards the Palestinian issue have been full of contradictions since the past, a country that once supported the occupied people, now openly supports the Zionist regime.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Middle East News, India’s policies towards the Palestinian issue have been full of contradictions from the past until now, and Delhi’s support for the people who suffered under the occupation has reached the support of the occupation itself, a support that is not only limited to the political and economic dimensions, but also the military dimension. How did this situation happen and why?

India voted against the partition of Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly in 1947 and was the first non-Arab country to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legal representative of the Palestinian people in 1974. As India was one of the first countries to recognize the Palestinian state in 1988. Although India recognized the Zionist regime in 1950, it did not establish diplomatic relations with it until 1992.

India’s political support for the Zionist regime

Contrary to all that has been said, as soon as the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation was launched by the Palestinian resistance on the 7th of last October, India immediately provided extensive political support to the Zionist regime.

Indian Prime Minister Narinda Modi was the first world leader to condemn the Al-Aqsa storm operation, and his Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar took the same position, claiming that “if Egypt does not stand up against extremism, it may to face fate”.

In line with its unconditional support to the Zionist regime, India refused to give a positive vote to the resolution requesting the establishment of a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip at the United Nations on the 27th of October.

The Indian authorities also gave permission to hold demonstrations in support of the Zionist regime in different regions of the country and in return suppressed the protests of the supporters of Palestine.

Employing Indian workers in occupied Palestine

Despite the intensification of the war, the number of Indian workers heading to Tel Aviv, especially in the construction sector, is increasing despite the dangers of the war. Meanwhile, this war caused the displacement of thousands of Asian workers and the mobilization of many reserve soldiers of the Zionist regime and the cancellation of the work permits of more than 130,000 Palestinian workers.

“Raj Kumar Yadav”, the head of the “Lucknow” Industrial Training Center of India, points out that the recruitment and recruitment offices of the Zionist regime are currently looking to recruit at least 10,000 construction workers with a monthly salary of 140,000 rupees (about $1,688). This program is supported by the Indian authorities.

According to the charge d’affaires of the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the noteworthy point in this process is that the experts of the Zionist regime monitor the tests in India and select the people they want.

The continuous and unprecedented transfer of American weapons shipments to occupied Palestine

A month earlier, Netanyahu urged his Indian counterpart to implement the 2023 agreement, which will facilitate the employment of 40,000 Indians in the construction and nursing sectors.

Last December, the two Indian states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh announced that they are recruiting 10,000 people to work in Tel Aviv in a campaign that was widely publicized in pro-Indian networks and media, and many of them spoke of India’s assistance to its ally, the Zionist regime.

In this context, the economic newspaper “Globes” of the Zionist regime wrote that the first group of Indian workers, numbering a thousand people, recently arrived in Tel Aviv, which is the first wave of the plan to attract at least 65 thousand workers from India.

Hindu mercenaries on the war front alongside Zionist soldiers

With the continuation of the Zionist war in the Gaza Strip, it was noteworthy that “Khalid Abolfazl”, a professor of law at the University of California in Los Angeles, accused a number of Hindus of fighting in the ranks of the Zionist regime.

Abulfazl said that Hindu soldiers are complicit in the crimes and killings committed by the army of the occupying regime against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

He added that the nationalist Hindus openly praise what the Zionist occupation is doing against the Palestinians.

“Zafar Islam Khan”, the editor of the National Gazette of India, has confirmed, based on the reports published in the Indian media, that about 215 Indians are fighting in the Zionist army.

Indian newspapers have spoken about the readiness of Hindus to fight alongside Tel Aviv, and in this regard, the “India Today” newspaper has said that “The people who have gone from India (to Tel Aviv) are armed people and are not only ready to fight Hamas, but they have gone to face terrorists.”

What has changed?

To understand the reasons for the major change in India’s policy towards Palestine, most analyzes point to two main factors, which include:

1- spread of Hindu nationalism

Ashok Swain, head of peace and war studies at Sweden’s Uppsala University, says Hindu nationalism has been on the rise since Modi became prime minister, although the researcher believes that the majority of Indians still support the Palestinian struggle for independence.

2- Enmity with Islam

Ashok Swain points out that the Narendra Modi government believes that as long as the war in Gaza continues, the Indian media will condemn Hamas. While this approach is an opportunity to increase Islamophobia within the Indian society.

Swain believes that there are many common links between Zionism and Hinduism and that both ideologies share the same goals of expansionism and exclusion of others.

Both Zionism and the Hindu sect claim that occupied India and Palestine were originally Hindu and Jewish civilizations, but were contaminated by foreigners, specifically Muslims, and now both sides are seeking to restore the former glory to the Hindu and Jewish states.
