The start of the second round of the French parliamentary elections in the shadow of the fear of the victory of the extreme right

PNN – French citizens are going to the polls to participate in the second round of the French parliamentary elections, the results of which are important for the political future of France and for the first time, it can make the extreme right party the largest party in the parliament of this country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Euroactive website called the French elections “disastrous” if it leads to the victory of the National Assembly party affiliated with the extreme leader of France, Marine Le Pen.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced early elections three years ahead of schedule and after his party’s defeat in the European Parliament elections, which many observers say backfired.

After the victory of Le Pen’s party in the first round of the French parliamentary elections on June 30, he was confident that the National Assembly party could win an absolute majority in the French parliament and make its young party leader Jordan Bardella the prime minister.

But last week, more than 200 tactical agreements were made between the candidates of the center and left parties of France to prevent the victory of Le Pen’s party under the title of “Republican Front” of the extreme right. France had previously used a similar measure in the election competition of Jean-Marie Le Pen’s father Marine Le Pen with Jacques Chirac in the second round of the 2002 presidential election.

The latest polls predict that the National Assembly will fall short of the 289 seats needed for an absolute majority in France’s 577-seat National Assembly, but will still be the largest party in parliament.

Such a result would force Macron to form a broad coalition against the National Assembly party and keep Prime Minister Gabriel Ethel as caretaker. But it could paralyze French policy as the country prepares for the Olympics on July 26.

The latest results of the polls, published by the two institutions on Friday, show that the National Community Party will win between 170 and 210 seats, the New Popular Front (NFP) 145 to 185 and the moderates affiliated with Macron 118 to 150 seats.

This European website wrote: Macron has recently distanced himself from the public to avoid further provoking the voters and has promised to remain in the presidential seat until 2027. In the next round of French presidential elections, Le Pen has a better chance to win and enter the Elysee Palace.

Intensification of violence and conflicts on the eve of the second round of elections

More than 50 candidates and campaign activists have been physically attacked in the campaigns that lasted for four weeks.

The second round of elections will be conducted with increased police presence. About 30,000 police forces, including 5,000 in Paris, have been dispatched to prevent problems in the elections.

According to the report of the Sky News website, at least 30 suspects with very different backgrounds have been arrested so far, and the candidates of the National Assembly Party and far-left politicians were among the targets of the attack.

French Interior Minister Gérald Daronin has confirmed that politicians of all stripes in this country have faced physical and verbal abuse, often during the installation of propaganda posters.

Agence France-Presse also wrote that the ballot boxes in the second and final round of early elections for the French Legislative Assembly opened on Sunday, and more than 500 seats are still left for the lower house. This election will determine the next prime minister of France, who will likely be from the party or coalition parties that won the most seats.

Sunday’s parliamentary election in mainland France will be “decisive,” Euronews said, with parties battling to win votes from a strong far-right force.

According to this report, the voters of France’s cross-border regions and those living abroad started on Saturday in the second round of parliamentary elections, which could bring an unprecedented victory to the far-right nationalist.

Le Pen’s party, which blames immigration for many of France’s problems, has seen its support grow over the past decade and hopes to win an absolute majority in the second round. The result would allow Jordan Bardella, the leader of the National Assembly party, to become prime minister and form a government at odds with Macron’s policies on Ukraine, police powers and other issues.
