Ukraine, Iranian missiles and new sanctions; West’s new game.
During the recent days, along with the media coverage of the Western media, we have witnessed the Western sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
First, on Tuesday (September 20th), the three countries of England, France and Germany, known as the European Troika, imposed new sanctions against Tehran by repeating baseless claims about sending ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia.
In the joint statement of the Troika, a copy of which was published on the website of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated: The governments of France, Germany and the United Kingdom strongly condemn the export of Iranian ballistic missiles by Russia. This action, which is an increase in Iran’s military support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, will cause Iran’s missiles to reach Europe and increase the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
On the same day, the British Foreign Ministry issued a statement announcing the sanctioning of 7 individuals and entities related to the baseless claim that Iran sent ballistic missiles to Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Then America also joined this anti-Iranian wave and the Ministry of Treasury of this country, in continuation of the dual policy of diplomacy and pressure, detained 20 people, institutions and ships including 10 people, 6 institutions and 4 ships in Iran and Russia under the pretext of sending missiles from Tehran. sanctioned Moscow for use in the war against Ukraine.
This wave of sanctions was accompanied by Iran’s reaction, and “Nasser Kanani”, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated in this regard: “The exporters of prohibited weapons, missiles and bombs and 2000 pounds to the Zionist regime, which destroyed urban areas, houses and residential camps of Palestinian refugees. It attacks Gaza and the West Bank, how do they give themselves the right to sanction Iran with absurd and baseless claims of selling missiles?!
He previously considered the military cooperation between Iran and Russia to be far older than the date of the start of the war in Ukraine and within the framework of bilateral agreements based on international norms and laws and said: As has been emphasized many times, the Islamic Republic of Iran, while opposing the war, is a political solution for It supports the resolution of Russian-Ukrainian disputes and an end to military conflicts.
It seems that the Western powers are pursuing specific goals behind the curtain of their new round of accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran centered on the war in Ukraine; The goals that at least three of them will be mentioned below;
1. Obstacle against Iran’s increasing power
The policy of maximum pressure against the Islamic Republic of Iran to prevent Tehran from gaining more power in the region and the world is not a new issue, but it has intensified these days because at the same time as the significant nuclear developments and, of course, the development of the influence of our country’s regional power, the Western powers have felt threatened. They are trying to create favorable grounds for the implementation of hostile policies and actions against our country by making various accusations against Iran.
2. Deviation of public opinion from the crimes in Gaza
While all eyes are focused on the crimes committed by the Zionist regime under the banner of the West in the Gaza Strip over the last 11 months, which has led to the martyrdom of more than 41,000 innocent people, the Troika and the United States intend to change this equation.
The countries sanctioning Iran, which is the largest exporter to the occupied territories, are trying to divert international attention as much as possible from their criminal actions in complicity with the occupation regime of Jerusalem in the massacre of the Palestinian people.
3. An excuse to justify aid to Ukraine
Exactly on the same day (Tuesday, 20 September) that Europe and America sanctioned Iran without any valid reason, we saw the Kyiv officials fishing out of muddy water. For example, Andrey Yermak, the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, repeated the West’s claims that Iran sent missiles to Russia and said that the West should allow Kiev to use long-range missiles to attack Russian territory.
Yermak on the social network “X” (former Twitter) asked Western countries to issue a license to use long-range weapons against Russian soil for Ukraine and wrote: “We are preparing for a license to use Western weapons against military targets on Russian soil. We need more long-range missiles and the strengthening of air defense systems.
