UK’s biggest pro-Palestinian campaign to voters: Vote for pro-Palestinian candidates

PNN – At the same time as the general election has started in England, the largest British campaign supporting Palestine, which has organized mass rallies and marches in the past nine months to condemn the crimes of the Zionist regime, advised voters in this country to vote for anti-Israeli candidates.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Solidarity Campaign with the Palestinian People (PSC) has launched a special page on its website and explained the ideological orientation of all election candidates. On this page, by entering the postal code, the user can see the profile of the candidate of his constituency along with his political opinions. This page also shows which of the anti-Israel initiatives the candidate voted against, if he was a member of parliament before.

Before the elections, the Solidarity Campaign with the Palestinian People launched a campaign called “Vote for Palestine” to challenge the views of political parties on the Gaza war. This British movement encouraged voters to send a petition that it prepared about developments in Palestine to candidates in their constituencies.

In this petition, a copy of which has been published on the website of the campaign of solidarity with the Palestinian people, it is stated: The elections are held when the Palestinians are facing the darkest moments of their struggle for freedom and justice. More than 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip. Israel has violated Palestinian rights over the past several decades, and successive British governments have been complicit in this crime.

The petition adds: As a voter in your constituency, your position on Palestinian rights affects how we vote. Please clarify your views on this so that voters in this area can make an informed decision on how to vote.

Over the past 9 months, the Zionist regime has launched a massive massacre in Gaza and, while closing all the crossings and preventing the arrival of relief aid, has turned this area into a ruin.

According to the latest statistics of the Gaza Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs of the Israeli war in Gaza has exceeded 38 thousand since October 7, 2023.

The positions of the Conservative Party and the Labor Party, as the main British parties, do not differ much about the developments in Palestine. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labor Party leader Keir Starmer, who according to all polls have a high chance of winning the elections, claim that the Zionist regime has the right to defend itself against the attacks of Islamic resistance groups.

Ignoring the brutal killing of the Palestinian people and the increasing number of martyrs, they are against a complete ceasefire in the region and claim that such an event will make the resistance groups more daring.

From this point of view, experts believe that whatever the result of the British election, there will be no significant change in the country’s foreign policy towards Palestine.

The general election in England to determine the fate of 650 seats in the House of Commons and the next government has started this morning. Polling stations in England will start at 7:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM. According to the law, it is not possible to take pictures from inside the polling stations or voters, but the data research institutes outside the branches, which are key in determining the fate of the elections, are engaged in surveying the voters.

According to published reports, the number of people eligible to vote is about 46 million out of the country’s 68 million population. Elections will be held in about 40,000 polling stations, most of which are public places such as schools and neighborhood meeting halls. This is the first time that people have to present identity documents to participate in the elections.

Most pre-election polls show that the Labor Party now has a better chance of winning a majority of seats in the House of Commons, and that the Conservatives, led by Rishi Sunak, are headed for a heavy defeat after 14 years in power.

Most polls since December 2021 show that the Conservative Party’s popularity has been steadily declining and may lose two-thirds of its seats.

According to the latest studies conducted by the Yugao polling institute, it is possible that Rishi Sunak, along with British Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt and a number of senior cabinet members, will lose their seats in the elections and will not enter the next Parliament.

This is while it is predicted that the Labor Party, by winning 431 seats in the elections, will surpass Tony Blair’s record in the 1997 elections, when he entered the government with 418 seats. A few hours ago Starmer posted a message on X social network and wrote: Today the political fate of England has been voted on. So vote to change the Conservative government.

It should be noted that personalities and media are prohibited from commenting on the results or the way people voted during the elections. In fact, this is illegal and can lead to a fine of up to £5,000 or 6 months in prison. For this reason, the media is silent in this regard during the elections.

The first speculations will start at 10:00 pm and after the funds are closed. In the first poll after the election, which is known as the exit poll, the result of the election can be roughly predicted.

British media will continue to report live counting of votes in various constituencies until Friday morning when the final result is announced.

The result of the election and the future government will be known on Friday evening. But if none of the parties manage to win a majority, then we have to wait for negotiations to form a coalition government.
