PNN – While the United States has staged plans for military intervention in Venezuela, Caracas has also designed specific strategies to counter American military intervention.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, the spread of tension between the United States and Venezuela shows signs of the two sides entering a new phase of confrontation in security, military, and economic dimensions, and mutual calculations between Washington and Caracas have further complicated this problem.
This comes as Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s statements about his country’s ability to withstand pressure and possible operations are raising the level of tension.
The first scenario concerns security and espionage measures and special operations in Venezuela. Reuters news agency, citing US officials, said that the operation against Venezuela has entered a new phase, adopting different tactics. At the forefront of these efforts is the expansion of security and covert operations led by the US Central Intelligence Agency, as the US seeks to pursue its primary goal of overthrowing Maduro.

The second scenario refers to the possibility of ground attacks inside Venezuela after targeting the ships. This operation may be accompanied by air strikes on Venezuelan military positions or infrastructure facilities. In this scenario, military intervention would likely be limited, paving the way for an airborne operation that would be facilitated by US security services through intelligence and operational support on the ground.
The third scenario is to increase economic pressure through continued sanctions and the classification of Venezuela’s economic activities among terrorist groups. In this scenario, the United States is trying to weaken Venezuela’s national assets and damage the main pillars of the economy in the country.
The diplomatic option is also among the possibilities raised, as US officials have confirmed the existence of direct negotiations with the Venezuelan government, which may be a way to avoid a widespread or prolonged military confrontation between the two sides.
Caracas’ options in the face of US operations
Caracas has several specific plans to counter American scenarios. Chief among these is the adoption of a “guerrilla warfare” strategy that involves small military units in long-term resistance operations.
Venezuelan security sources say that about 60,000 members of the army and National Guard are ready to enter a long-term war. Maduro has also announced that 8 million civilians are being trained to defend the country if necessary.
The government in Caracas is also relying on a strategy of involving the intelligence apparatus and armed groups supporting the ruling party in a possible battle with the United States. This strategy is a comprehensive mechanism that will complicate any foreign intervention and widely disrupt the field.
While the United States has counted on the decline of Venezuela’s military capabilities and the weakening of support for the government within security institutions, the Caracas government considers a long-term resistance strategy an option that would increase the cost of any foreign intervention and complicate it.
