What did more than 15 months of bombing bring to Gaza?

PNN – In its reports, the United Nations has presented the amount of destruction caused by more than 15 months of bombardment and all-out attacks of the Zionist army on the Gaza Strip and the costs of its reconstruction.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting from “Al Quds Al Arabi” newspaper, simultaneously with the announcement of the agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime regarding the cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip, a review of the UN reports indicates the amount of severe destruction in this region as a result of the attacks of this regime.

The United Nations announced last October that clearing the 42 million tons of rubble left by the bombing of the Gaza Strip may take years and cost $1.2 billion.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in May 2024 that according to the estimates of this ministry, there are about 10 thousand bodies of martyrs under the rubble.

Last year, the United Nations said in a report that the reconstruction of the destroyed houses in the Gaza Strip will take at least until 2040 and maybe several decades.

According to UN satellite data in December, two-thirds of Gaza’s pre-war buildings, more than 170,000, were destroyed or razed to the ground. This figure is equivalent to about 69% of all buildings in the Gaza Strip. According to the United Nations assessment, this amount of building amounts to 245,123 residential units.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced in its latest report this month that available water resources are now less than a quarter of pre-war resources and at least 68 percent of the road network has been severely damaged.

The Zionist regime, with the support of the United States, launched a devastating war against the residents of the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, as a result of which, in addition to massive destruction and deadly famine, more than thousands of Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, were martyred and injured.

Despite all these crimes, the Zionist regime admitted that after more than a year of war against the residents of Gaza, it could not achieve its goals of this war, which is to destroy the Hamas movement and return the Zionist prisoners from the Gaza Strip.

Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, announced the success of efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza on Wednesday night local time (Doha, Qatar) and announced: The Palestinian and Israeli sides agreed to a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

He added: The implementation of the agreement will come into effect on Sunday, January 19, and according to it, Hamas will release 33 (Zionist) captives in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.
