Putin: We did not start the war

On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin, criticizing the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns, recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region.

Three days after that, Putin launched a military operation, which he called “special operations”, against Ukraine, thus turning the tense Moscow-Kiev relationship into a military confrontation, and this war is still ongoing.

From the point of view of some analysts, the message of the President of Russia to the Federal Parliament of this country reflects his electoral views as a candidate for the upcoming elections.

Referring to the Russian military operations in Ukraine, Putin said in this message: “We did not start this war in Donbass, but as I have said more than once, we will do everything to end it and achieve the goals of the special military operations.”

He continued: The Russian armed forces firmly hold the initiative, they confidently advance on a number of fronts and liberate more new areas.

The President of Russia further discussed the intentions of the Western countries in their enmity with Moscow and stated: Preventing the development of Russia is not the only goal of the West in this enmity, these countries need a dependent, faded and dying space in the world where they can do whatever they want in the world.

He continued: “The West tends to do with Russia what it did with Ukraine, including bringing the conflict to our house and weakening us from within.” But they made a miscalculation.

According to “Moskovski Komsamolets” newspaper, Kharitonov added in an election debate: “It is necessary to force Kiev to surrender and then negotiate according to Russia’s terms.”

According to other Russian media reports, the head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, also expressed the party’s policy of supporting special military operations in Ukraine in a ceremony held near the Karl Max monument in Moscow with the presence of Kharitonov.

Predicting Russia’s victory in the special military operation in Ukraine, he said: In this operation, the Russian soldier not only defends the Russian world, but also resists the destructive capitalist system of the Anglo-Saxons.

Wishing for peace as soon as possible; According to Russian conditions

According to the Kommersant newspaper, Davankov was content to lay flowers at the memorial site of the Soviet soldier in Rezhova on this day. He said: “My father celebrated February 23 every year in the military camp and remembered those who left this world earlier. Of course, he always wished that there would be no war. This politician wished “peace as soon as possible” to all audiences in a telegram post related to this issue.

He stated: Although it seems difficult to sit at the negotiating table and start an agreement at the current stage, it is important that the peace that is achieved is according to Russia’s terms.

Slutsky and the idea of the victorious end of special operations in 2024

Leonid Slutsky, the leader and candidate of the “Liberal Democracy Party”, has mentioned the need to win as quickly as possible in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine as a key point of his election program.

Slutsky also emphasized in the election debate with Kharitonov and Davankov, the other candidates for the Russian presidential election: Do everything possible and impossible to win and end the special military operation [Russia in Ukraine] in 2024. For this purpose, he proposed to paralyze the Ukrainian railway system in order to stop the shipment of Western weapons from Poland to the battlefield.

Also, according to the “Ryanovsk” news agency, after the Russian flag was raised in Avdiyka, Slutsky met with the Russian military forces that participated in this operation in a trip to Luhansk and congratulated them on this victory.

This Russian presidential election candidate said: The capture of Avdiyoka will be recorded in the history of special military operations, just as the conquest of Stalingrad and Kursk were recorded in the history of World War II.

Slutsky described the special military operation as “honorable and sacred” and said: I am confident that Russia will complete this operation successfully and victoriously in 2024.

He continued: Kramatorsk and Azofetsal, where evil spirits are sitting, Slavyansk and Sviatogorsk, whose people have suffered for a long time, and then Liman, which we temporarily left, will return very, very soon.
