Why is Israel attacking T4?

PNN – As the first Turkish military convoy arrived to deploy an air defense system at the T4 air base in Homs, the Zionists attacked the base to send a credible threatening message to Ankara about its military presence in Syria.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israeli regime bombed the Syrian T4 air base for the second time in less than a month on Wednesday morning. The air base, known as the “Al-Tiyas” air base, is located 60 kilometers from the city of Palmyra in Homs province and is considered the largest air base in Syria.

The T4 base was also attacked by the Zionist regime several times during the Syrian civil war under the pretext of the presence of resistance forces. The question is why, despite the fact that this base is damaged and has no strategic capabilities; it has been targeted by the Zionist regime twice in the last two weeks.

According to reports, the Turkish government is planning to establish an air defense network in Syria, centered on the T4 base, and according to the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the first convoy of equipment related to this base entered Syrian territory by land on Wednesday. According to this report, Turkey plans to activate this base from mid-April (this month).

Türkiye plans to activate radar and air defense systems, including the “Sibar” missile system, at this base. It is also planned to deploy reconnaissance and attack drones at T4 air base and other bases (possibly Hama).

However, some sources claimed that Turkey will also transfer the S-400 system, which it purchased from Russia in 2017 but has not yet activated under pressure from the United States, to this base. This is despite the fact that according to the S-400 contracts, the buyer country does not have the right to sell or deploy the system in a third country, and this could become a legal challenge between Moscow and Ankara.

Meanwhile, these Turkish military movements in Syria have caused serious concern for the Zionist regime, which wants to prevent the military presence of regional rivals in Syria in any way possible.

Immediately after the attack two nights ago, the Israeli army radio announced that the aim of last night’s attacks on Syrian territory was to send a warning message to the Turkish president. Some sources even claimed that a Turkish technician was killed in the attacks, although official sources have not confirmed this news.

After bombing the Palmyra airport and the T4 airbase on March 22, the Israeli army announced: We will continue our attacks to eliminate any threat against Israel.

Political analysts in the Zionist regime consider Turkey’s presence and the strengthening of the government of Mohammad Golani, who has Brotherhood ideas, a threat to their security. Given the experience of October 7 and the surprise of this attack, they are distrustful of the positive signals from the Golani government and are strongly seeking to divide and weaken Syria.

Israeli military analysts also consider the deployment of Turkish air defense systems in Syria a challenge to the regime’s air force’s freedom of action in Syria for future operations in Iraq, Lebanon, and even Iran.

Therefore, it is expected that as the current trend continues, with Türkiye’s increasing political influence and military entry into Syria, the country’s security and possibly military tension with the Zionist regime will intensify.
