“X” users about Iran’s revenge “Harsh and Soon”
Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), who traveled to Iran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian, our country’s president, was staying in one of the lodges in northern Tehran. Early Wednesday morning (August 1), he was killed by a projectile fired from the air.
On Saturday (August 5), the public relations office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in their third statement: “Based on investigations and assessments, this terrorist operation involved the firing of a short-range projectile with an approximately 7-kilogram warhead, accompanied by a powerful explosion, from outside the guest accommodations zone.”
Users on the social media platform X, following the occurrence of this terrorist incident, began speculating about the scale of a retaliatory attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occupied territories, while also paying special attention to martyr Haniyeh and the Palestinian resistance.
Users expressed sorrow over the high number of martyrs in Haniyeh’s family.
Most of the tweets from users on social media, especially on X, focused on the martyrdom of dozens of members of Haniyeh’s family, and the news of his own martyrdom deepened their grief. One user shared two pictures side by side: one showing Haniyeh’s grandchildren and the other depicting the moment when the news of his son and grandchildren’s martyrdom was relayed to him.
This user wrote: “First, Israeli terrorists killed Ismail Haniyeh’s grandchildren. Then they killed his children. Now they’ve killed Haniyeh himself.” He referred to the Zionist regime as a terrorist regime and emphasized that “the power of truth is undeniable; the truth can never be suppressed.”
