Yemen-style surprise: Trump’s hot-button issue leads to Israel’s impasse

PNN – The continuation of Yemen’s operations and multilateral siege against the Zionist regime, despite the ceasefire agreement with the United States, primarily reflects and leads Sanaa’s power to be independent and impose its war equations on the enemy, forcing the occupiers to reconsider their calculations.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Yemen, which, as the second front of the resistance axis after Hezbollah in Lebanon, entered the arena of comprehensive support for the Palestinian people and resistance from the very first months of the Al-Aqsa Storm battle, remained in this arena in light of the strengths it enjoyed, most notably the unity of the nation, government, and army, and transformed the equations of the conflict with the Zionists.

Yemen’s firm stance in support of Palestine

Yemen’s naval blockade of the Zionist regime since the country’s entry into the Gaza support front was the most prominent and effective action taken by the Yemenis and by closing the port of Eilat, the most strategic commercial port in occupied Palestine, it greatly worried and confused the Zionist regime and its supporters.

At the same time, Yemeni missiles and drones were constantly penetrating deep into occupied Palestine and reaching sensitive Zionist positions in various areas, until Tel Aviv became the main target of Yemeni attacks, and fleeing to shelter has become a common and, of course, terrifying scenario for Tel Aviv residents over the past year and a half.

US and Israel’s heated debate in Yemen

In the meantime, we should point out that the Yemeni nation, government, and armed forces have made many sacrifices and paid a heavy price for their presence on the frontline in support of Gaza over the past year and a half. Following the Zionist regime’s inability to counter the operations and naval blockade imposed by Yemen against the regime, in early January 2024, the United States, under the presidency of Joe Biden, formed a coalition with a number of European countries to attack Yemen, with only Britain remaining in this coalition. But in the end, after spending more than $5 billion on attacks against Yemen and failing to dissuade the country from its stance in supporting Gaza, the Americans were forced to stop the conflict with Yemen.

Then, Donald Trump, the new US President, who heavily criticized Biden’s performance in the Gaza war and related cases, including Yemen, and claimed that he was much more powerful than Biden and could solve the Yemeni problem once and for all, resorted to the same repetitive scenario of attacks against the country.

Threatening to open the gates of hell in the Middle East, Trump launched attacks on Yemen along with Britain nearly two months ago, which resulted in the killing and wounding of hundreds of Yemeni civilians, darkening the image of the US axis in the world, and wasting $3 billion. Ultimately, like Biden, and even more humiliatingly than him, Donald Trump was forced to withdraw from Yemen and declare a ceasefire.

The notable point about the indirect ceasefire agreement between the United States and Yemen is that, while Washington had entered into a war with Yemen with the aim of halting operations and besieging the Zionist regime, it agreed to an agreement in which Israel had no place and there was no news of an end to the Yemeni operations.

Tel Aviv’s Lod Airport, which the Zionists call Ben Gurion Airport and is the most secure and sensitive strategic area of the occupiers in Tel Aviv, has become an easy target for Yemeni missiles over the past few weeks, and Tel Aviv residents are waiting day and night to hear the warning sirens to flee to shelter.

Over the past 24 hours, the Yemenis have fired three missiles at Ben Gurion Airport, sending millions of Zionists to shelters, and according to Hebrew media reports, a number of them have also been injured.

How did Yemen impose the air blockade equation on the Zionists?

These developments come after about 10 days ago, a supersonic missile launched by Yemen successfully passed through the Israeli army’s multi-layered defense formation and landed near Ben-Gurion Airport, closing the airport, which is the only international airport in the Israeli regime, for several hours. Most international airlines announced the suspension of their flights to and from Ben-Gurion Airport.

We should note that the expansion of Yemeni operations against Tel Aviv is taking place at the same time as the Israeli regime’s brutal military attacks on the Gaza Strip are intensifying, and therefore the recent Yemeni attacks carry an effective threatening message to force the Israeli regime to reassess its capabilities as part of the Resistance Axis.

Fabian Heinz, a researcher at the International Institute for Strategic Studies who has monitored the missile and drone capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces, believes that the Ansarullah movement has largely succeeded in localizing the production of missiles and drones within Yemen.

He said: The Yemenis have a high operational capability to launch ballistic and cruise missiles, and most importantly, the Yemeni armed forces use rugged mountainous areas to store and launch their missiles, which makes it very difficult for the United States and Israel to track these missiles. These same characteristics give Yemen greater independence and increase its ability to wage a long-term regional war of attrition.

Amos Hariel, a military analyst for the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, stated in this regard: Further successes by the Yemenis will cause serious damage to the Israeli market and disrupt relations with the outside world at the airline level for at least a few months.

The Zionist analyst noted: It does not seem that any action can force the Yemenis to change their policy, and as we have seen, after more than a month and a half of its intense attacks against Yemen, the United States was unable to change the country’s positions and was ultimately forced to declare a ceasefire.

In terms of the Gaza war process, given the Zionists’ inability to impose their plots, including the forced displacement of the people of Gaza and the disarmament of the resistance, the occupying regime has decided to prolong the Gaza war, which means that tensions will continue to escalate, and at the same time, the Yemenis are continuing their naval and air blockade and their operations against the Zionist regime.

As a result, the Yemenis can intermittently disrupt activity in the Israeli airspace. Of course, this is far from the traditional concept of a no-fly zone, which requires military superiority and firepower on the side enforcing it. This means that the Yemenis can successfully impose an air blockade on Israel despite the superior military power of the Zionist side, which is under the unlimited support of the United States.
