PNN – CNN news network, in a report, quoted a senior Pakistani official who asked not to be named as saying: Islamabad still believes that there is a possibility of an Indian attack on Pakistan.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the CNN report states: The senior Pakistani official reported the flight of four Indian fighter jets near Pakistani airspace, saying that the flight of these fighter jets was assessed by Islamabad as a threat, but due to the presence of Pakistani fighter jets in the area, they changed course to a nearby base instead of crossing the border.
The CNN report adds: The senior Pakistani official described the efforts of US President Donald Trump’s administration to reduce tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad as impartial and helpful.
Pakistani Intelligence Minister Attaullah Tarar had previously announced that the country has reliable intelligence indicating that India intends to launch a military attack against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours.
Tarar announced in a video message on his X social media account (formerly Twitter): Pakistan has reliable information indicating that India intends to launch a military attack against us within the next 24 to 36 hours, using the Pahalgam incident as a fabricated pretext.
Stressing that any aggressive action against the country will be met with a decisive response, Pakistan’s Information Minister noted that India will be responsible for any serious consequences in the region.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Monday (April 28), amid rising tensions between Islamabad and nuclear-armed New Delhi: A military attack by the neighboring country on Pakistan is imminent, following last week’s deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Reuters in his office in Islamabad: We have strengthened our forces because this (Indian attack) is something that is imminent now. So in this situation, strategic decisions have to be made and these decisions have been made.
Asif stated that verbal tension between the two countries is increasing and that the Pakistani military has informed the Pakistani government about the possibility of an Indian attack.
Gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in the tourist area of Palgham, about 90 kilometers from Srinagar in Indian Kashmir, killing at least 27 people on Tuesday evening. Indian officials described the incident as a terrorist attack and alleged Pakistani involvement in the attack.
The Pakistani Prime Minister called the Kashmir dispute the root of instability in South Asia and called on the UN Secretary-General to play his role for its just resolution, in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Shahbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to strengthening international peace and security as a responsible member of the international community and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace in South Asia and said that the world cannot tolerate any escalation of tensions in the region at this critical time.
This comes after the deadly attack in the Pahalgam region of Indian Kashmir, where the country’s Prime Minister promised a painful response against the perpetrators of the incident and at the same time pointed the finger of blame at Pakistan.
Countries in the region and around the world have also expressed concern about the new phase of tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors on the subcontinent and have called for restraint.
Previously, the Pakistani Foreign Minister had held telephone conversations with his counterparts from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Persian Gulf countries, China, the United Kingdom, Egypt, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Hungary, and Turkey regarding the recent tensions with India.
