Govt abrogates B-Form requirement for school admissions
ISLAMABAD: Students in Pakistan no longer need to submit the ‘B-Form’ while taking admission to schools as the federal government abolished the mandatory requirement for the educational institutes under the Centre.
Education Secretary Mohiuddin Wani on Friday said that the ‘B- Form’ requirement had disproportionately affected vulnerable populations.
“Our aim is to ensure that every child has access to quality education,” he added.
He also said that the move aims to increase school enrollment and reduce the number of out-of-school children.
All children residing in Islamabad, regardless of their documentation status, will be eligible for admission to government schools.
As per the Pakistan Education Statistics Report 2021-22, the country has witnessed an alarming rise in out-of-school children as the figure soared to over 26 million.
The Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) released a comprehensive analysis report that made staggering revelations regarding the number of out-of-school children (OOSC) earlier this year.
It stated that the latest findings were a preliminary teaser, highlighting the critical state of education accessibility in the country.
