Ishaq Dar has underscored his dedication to promoting pluralism and fostering interfaith harmony.

PNN: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to pluralism, interfaith harmony, and peaceful coexistence, describing the nation’s diversity as a source of pride and strength.

In a message issued on the eve of the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Christmas, he said the coincidence of the two occasions reflects the inclusive vision and moral foundations upon which Pakistan was established.

Dar said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned Pakistan as a democratic state based on equality, pluralism and respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens, without distinction of religion, race or ethnicity. He recalled the Quaid’s historic address of 11 August 1947, in which he affirmed that the state would make no distinction between one citizen and another.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s commitment to protecting minority rights, equality and religious freedom remains a cornerstone of the Constitution and the national ethos.

Extending warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community, the deputy prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to religious freedom, equality and pluralism, as envisioned by the founding fathers of Pakistan.

He paid tribute to the contributions of Christian citizens to national development, particularly in education, healthcare, public service and national defence, noting that they have served the country with dedication, patriotism and honour.

Dar said the message of Christmas embodies universal values of peace, compassion, sacrifice and love for humanity, which resonate deeply with Islamic teachings and the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam.

He wished Christians around the world a Merry Christmas and paid heartfelt tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
