PNN – Referring to the importance of the recent agreements with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, especially to speed up the finalization of the free trade agreement and negotiations on the gas pipeline, emphasized: Raisi’s visit was an opportunity to deepen our all-round cooperation with Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Mumtaz Zahra said today in his weekly press conference in Islamabad, referring to the objectives of the official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan: In this visit, the two countries discussed a wide range of important bilateral issues, cooperation in the fields of trade, economy and energy, as well as consensus on regional and international issues.
He emphasized that the development of relations with the neighbors, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, is in line with the national interests of Pakistan and that both countries have a strong determination to transform the common borders into borders of peace, friendship and prosperity.
Mumtaz Zahra, in response to America’s positions regarding the expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad, including Washington’s obstruction in the discussion of the joint Iran-Pakistan gas project, said: Islamabad believes that the development of relations with other countries is never at the cost of existing relations with other countries, and we have conveyed these positions to Washington.
He stated that during the presidential visit, the two countries discussed all energy options, including the gas pipeline, and Pakistan is determined to use all available options to meet its vast energy needs.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said that bilateral trade with Iran in the form of a preferential trade agreement, relations at common borders, especially the exploitation of the capacities of border markets, continues, and at the same time, the two countries continue to negotiate on a free trade agreement.
He emphasized: Pakistan has conveyed to the United States through various channels that strengthening relations with its neighbors is very important for us, and in this regard, Iran and Pakistan are eager to cooperate closely to establish peace and friendship on the common borders.
Mumtaz Zahra added that Tehran and Islamabad have reached favorable agreements on cooperation between Chabahar and Gwadar ports, combating terrorism, drug and human trafficking, and combating money laundering.
According to this report, Syed Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Islamabad on Monday in his first foreign trip in the new year. The president of Iran also visited the cities of Lahore and Karachi.
He had a busy day in Islamabad. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan visited the President’s hotel, and then Raisi went to the Prime Minister’s Palace. where Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif officially welcomed him. Raisi then met with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari and the parties discussed a wide range of important bilateral issues, regional and international developments, especially the crimes of the usurping Israeli regime against the Gaza Strip and Palestine.
