KARACHI: Repair work on 84-inch diameter water supplying pipeline on the University Road will be completed by the night between Saturday and Sunday, said the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the pipeline was first burst last Friday and repair work on it began on December 3. While the line burst from another point Thursday evening on which repair work was ongoing, he added.
The official said the work was progressing swiftly with heavy machinery and staff on the site. However, he said, it could take some time to complete the work because of the extensive damage at two locations.
“Under the direct supervision of KWSC CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the repair work is being conducted on an emergency basis, with round-the-clock operations aimed at restoring water supply to affected residents as quickly as possible,” the spox maintained.
