KARACHI: The ‘Jom! Malaysia Chalo!’ event, hosted by the consulate general of Malaysia from September 13 till September 15 ended successfully on Sunday.
The three-day event, organised at the Dolmen Mall in Clifton, showcased the southeast Asian country’s higher education opportunities, tourism offerings and cultural richness, garnering significant public interest.
Notably, 12 distinguished Mala ysian higher education institutions participated in the event, offering Pakistani students and families valuable insights into academic programs, scholarships, and study opportunities in Malaysia.
The event was overseen by Novie Tajjuddin, CEO of the Malaysian government’s Education Malysia Global Services.
Additionally, the Tourism Mala ysia and Batik Air presented travel experiences and affordable flight options between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
An official launch ceremony was held where traditional Mala ysian cultural performances captivated the audience, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia.
During the inaugural ceremony, Herman Hardynata Ahmad, consul general of Malaysia in Karachi, delivered a speech expressing appreciation to all the participants, partners and attendees.
He acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia relations.
“This event serves as a testament to Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to deepening our ties with Pakistan, particularly in the areas of education and tourism. We are proud to showcase Malaysia as a prime destination for Pakistani students and travelers,” he remarked.
The event attracted a diverse crowd, including students, families, travellers and members of the business community.
The consulate general of Mala ysia in Karachi has extended its deepest gratitude to all those involved in making the event a success and looks forward to organising more similar events.
