Naqvi warns of zero tolerance for PTI’s planned Islamabad onrush

ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to postpone its scheduled protest in Islamabad on Oct 4 (Friday) as the Malaysian prime minister is here in the capital.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the interior minister said that the Malaysian prime minister is currently in Pakistan, and the SCO is also taking place here. He urged PTI not to threaten to storm Islamabad while a president or prime minister of another country is visiting.

He said that the protocol of the Malaysian prime minister would not be compromised, and they would not allow any rally in such a manner.

“When the head of a country is in the city and you plan to storm it, whose interests are you serving? If anyone talks about coming to D-Chowk, there will be no leniency towards them. It does not suit the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make such statements. If anyone protests in Islamabad tomorrow, we have made full arrangements for it and warn them not to complain later.

A Saudi delegation is also coming to Pakistan, and the army has been deployed in Islamabad to ensure security under all circumstances. As Pakistanis, it does not befit them to act this way. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has requested to postpone the protest, and if they do not do so, then the state is there to deal with it.
