PNN: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent is taking part in the World Defence Show (WDS) 2026 in Saudi Arabia, displaying its indigenous JF-17 Thunder Block-III multi-role fighter jet and the Super Mushshak basic trainer aircraft.
The World Defence Show is regarded as a major global platform for defence and security stakeholders, bringing together military officials, industry leaders and defence manufacturers from across the world. PAF officials said the force’s participation reflects Pakistan’s growing footprint in aerospace innovation, operational capability and defence production.
According to the PAF, the exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase the country’s expanding indigenous aerospace capabilities and its operational experience to potential partners and customers.
The JF-17 Block-III, described as the most advanced variant of the Thunder series, features modern avionics, an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, an enhanced electronic warfare suite and beyond-visual-range combat capability, enabling it to meet the requirements of contemporary air forces.
Alongside the fighter aircraft, the Super Mushshak trainer is also on display, highlighting Pakistan’s expertise in pilot training platforms. Known for its reliability, cost-effectiveness and ease of maintenance, the aircraft has been inducted by several friendly countries for basic flight training.
Officials said the PAF’s presence at the event aligns with its leadership’s vision to promote defence cooperation, expand exports and strengthen strategic partnerships. The show also offers an opportunity for international delegations to engage with PAF representatives to explore prospects for collaboration, training and technology transfer.
