Pakistan and China naval exercise focusing on strengthening strategic cooperation

PNN – The Pakistan Navy announced that a joint naval exercise with China called “Sea Guards 2023” has begun with a focus on strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries on the coast of Karachi port in southern Pakistan.

According to Pakistan News Network, from the public relations of the Pakistan Navy, this exercise is held with the aim of increasing the ability to repel subversive actions such as anti-submarine operations and the exchange of professional capabilities between the marines of Pakistan and China.

Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, the operational deputy of the Pakistan Navy, said during the opening ceremony of the sea guards exercise: The holding of this exercise is a continuation of the serious steps taken by two strategic partners in the expansion of defense and military relations.

Chinese warships, gunboats and speedboats are participating in this exercise alongside Pakistani forces.

The commanders of the naval forces of Pakistan and China are supposed to attend the final stage of this exercise.

Pakistan and China have a relatively extensive defense, military and security cooperation. Joint exercises of the Pakistan Navy with some countries are part of the regular programs of this force, which are held every year.

With more than 500 kilometers of common border, China and Pakistan have had significant defense relations in recent years, and currently, Beijing is the largest exporter of military equipment to Pakistan.

In addition to military cooperation, the two countries also have good economic cooperation with each other. Pakistan is the main ally of China among South Asian countries, and China is also the largest economic and trade partner of this country.

China, as Pakistan’s largest trading partner, has signed several important agreements with Pakistan in recent years, especially in the fields of construction. The important highway and the establishment of joint research centers in the field of hydroelectric energy production technology are only a part of these collaborations.
