Pakistan appoints new special envoy for Afghanistan

PNN – Former Pakistani ambassador to Kabul Mohammad Sadiq Khan has been appointed as Islamabad’s special envoy for Afghanistan for the second time by his prime minister.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, from Pakistan’s official sources, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, who was also the secretary of the National Security Department of this country in recent years, started his responsibility as Pakistan’s special representative in Afghanistan today.

During Imran Khan’s government, he also became a special representative for Afghanistan affairs, and then in early March, he resigned from this position due to personal reasons.

Earlier, Asif Ali Khan Durrani, the former ambassador of Pakistan to Iran, was appointed as the country’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, but he was removed from his position at the end of September this year.
