Pakistan appreciates China’s support amid tensions with India

PNN – Amid the escalation of tensions in already tense relations with India, the Pakistani Foreign Minister appreciated Beijing’s unwavering support for Islamabad’s positions and emphasized the shared determination to oppose unilateralism and hegemonic policies.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Public Relations Office of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the country, held a telephone conversation today with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister of China.

Senator Ishaq briefed his Chinese counterpart on the current situation in the region and strongly rejected what he called India’s unilateral, illegal actions as well as baseless propaganda against Pakistan.

Deeply appreciating China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s positions, he renewed his country’s strong commitment to iron friendship with China and a shared vision on the path of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and China emphasized their firm determination to maintain regional peace and stability, promote respect, mutual understanding, and jointly oppose unilateralism and hegemonic policies.

They agreed to maintain close communication and coordination at all levels to advance their shared goals of peace, security and sustainable development in the region and beyond.

Previously, the Pakistani Foreign Minister had telephone conversations with his counterparts from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Türkiye regarding the recent tensions with India.

The Pakistani Prime Minister also had a telephone conversation with Dr. Masoud Pezishkiyan, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
