PNN – Continuing the exchange of accusations and increasing tensions between the two traditional subcontinental rivals following the terrorist attack in India’s Pahalgam region, the Pakistani army spokesman accused Indian military officers of supporting terrorist movements and planning extraterritorial attacks.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in a press conference at the army headquarters in Rawalpindi today, General Ahmed Sharif said in response to the recent attack in India and the accusations against Islamabad that despite a week having passed since the attack, the Indian side has not provided any evidence or documents to prove its accusations against Pakistan, either to this country or to the international community.
He claimed that Pakistani intelligence agencies have intercepted several secret contacts between Indian army officers and terrorist elements inside Pakistan, indicating that the attacks in recent months against civilians and security forces in Pakistan were planned and financed by India.
The Pakistani army spokesman added that he believes the country has sufficient evidence of the intervention of the Indian army and intelligence services in creating unrest in various regions of Pakistan, especially the carrying out of several explosions.
He added that Pakistan had nothing to do with the recent attack in India and that the armed forces, alongside its people, are ready to defend Pakistan against any foreign aggression.
