PNN – In a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister, the Pakistani army commander emphasized the country’s military’s readiness to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation with Beijing.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Pakistani Army Commander Asim Munir, in a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, emphasized the readiness of his country’s army to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation with Beijing.

According to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the Pakistani army commander stated in the meeting that the brotherly friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries have remained steadfast and solid despite various tests, and friendly cooperation with China is a national consensus in Pakistan.

The Pakistani army commander also expressed appreciation for China’s long-term and valuable support for Pakistan’s economic and social development, and stated that the Pakistani army will take all necessary measures to ensure the security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in the country.

The Chinese Foreign Minister also said in the meeting that the Pakistani army is a staunch defender of national interests and a strong supporter of China-Pakistan friendship, and expressed hope that the army will continue its efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Wang Yi stressed that Beijing and Islamabad are iron friends and all-season strategic partners. The two countries have always firmly supported each other on issues concerning core interests and stood together in the face of various challenges.

The Chinese foreign minister added that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the Chinese President and senior Pakistani officials, bilateral relations have been continuously strengthened. As a result, the two countries are accelerating the building of a community with a shared future in the new era.

He also stated that China has always considered Pakistan a priority in its neighborly diplomacy. He expressed China’s readiness to work with Pakistan to implement the joint understandings of the leaders of the two countries, which will lead to deepening the all-round strategic partnership, enhancing mutual benefits, and contributing to regional peace and stability.

Wang Yi expressed China’s support for Pakistan’s resolute measures against terrorism and called on the Pakistani military to make all-out efforts to ensure the security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions on its soil.

According to the statement, some regional and international issues were among the other topics discussed by Beijing and Islamabad officials during the meeting.
