Pakistan denied any arms cooperation with Ukraine

Pak Sahafat – The government of Pakistan called the American media’s revelation that it received a loan from the International Monetary Fund in exchange for an arms deal with Kiev a fake and untrue story and emphasized its unshakable position of neutrality in the Ukraine war.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Monday night, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan issued a statement denying any arms cooperation with Kiev and calling the reports in this regard baseless.

“Mumtaz Zahra” emphasized Pakistan’s principled position of neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine war, and added: “Pakistan maintains its policy of strict neutrality in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia and does not provide any weapons or ammunition to the conflicting parties in this context.”

He emphasized that Pakistan’s defense exports are always accompanied by the strict requirements of the final consumer.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said: “The pre-determined agreement of the International Monetary Fund to grant a loan to Pakistan was successfully negotiated between the two parties for the implementation of difficult but fundamental economic reforms, so it is dishonest to give any other color to these negotiations.”

According to this report, the “Intercept” news website based in the United States claimed that a series of leaked confidential documents indicated that Washington helped Islamabad to obtain a loan from the International Monetary Fund in exchange for a secret arms deal from Pakistan to Ukraine.

The Intercept wrote: This secret deal was made for the period from the summer of 2022 to the spring of 2023, and its executors are special political and military decision-makers in Pakistan who are rarely exposed to the public.
