Pakistan Foreign Minister: As a nuclear-armed country, we will retaliate against any Indian action

PNN – The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan called the recent incident in Indian Kashmir regrettable and at the same time warned against any provocative actions by its eastern neighbor, saying: As a nuclear power, Islamabad will retaliate against any Indian action in order to protect its national interests.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced hours before an emergency meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Committee following the positions of Indian officials regarding the recent attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir: Pakistan is a responsible country and at the same time a nuclear power and is ready to respond to India’s irrational actions.

He considered India’s accusations against Pakistan baseless and added: New Delhi has not provided any evidence or documents to Islamabad and is only accusing Pakistan; therefore, Pakistan’s National Security Committee will take the necessary decisions in this regard.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister emphasized: We will take every step to protect our territory and national interests and will retaliate against India’s provocative actions.

Indian officials are accusing their western neighbor (Pakistan) of involvement in the attack on tourists in Kashmir, and Pakistan’s National Security Committee will meet in response to this situation.

New Delhi also blames Pakistani militant groups for planning terrorist attacks in Kashmir and other parts of India.

The Indian cabinet also suspended the water sharing agreement with Pakistan and closed the official border crossing called Attari (the Wagah border on the Pakistani side). Pakistani officials call India’s suspension of the water sharing agreement an unjustified move and contrary to the commitments made in the agreement.

India also declared the military, defense and security attachés of the Pakistani embassy in India as undesirable elements and asked Pakistani nationals to leave Indian soil within 48 hours. The military attaché of the Indian embassy in Islamabad has also been recalled to New Delhi.

The current tensions between Pakistan and India are reminiscent of the air battle between the two countries that brought them to the brink of full-scale war, days after a deadly suicide attack on Indian forces in the Pulwama region.

Gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in the tourist area of Palgham, about 90 kilometers from Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, on Tuesday evening, killing at least 27 people. Indian authorities have described the incident as a terrorist attack.
